After being away from any cd/tg sites, I’m glad I found the CDH. It is great to see lots of participation and new people joining almost daily.

I’d like to suggest something to those who are kind of new to sites like this. And that is not to forget that everybody here has a different situation in life. Some have the great luck of being young, or petite or cute or all of the above. Some others are single or divorced so they can dress to their heart’s content. Some can barely afford to get one item every once in a while while others can go shopping all the time. Some with supportive families and/or spouses, etc.

So, don’t feel bad if you read about how so and so has done this or that... or think that you can barely get your lipstick on and others look like just jumping out from the cover of Cosmo.

Most everybody had similar starting points, and we may still have many things in common. So let’s do the best we can with our own limitations... I will never be 5’4” and weight 110 lbs. or look like Nicole Kidman... or will be back to be under 25 yo. But I can be me. And I can enjoy life even with a non supportive wife and not being able to have “me” time other than maybe once or twice a year.

So, enjoy being you. Learn what you can, practice all you can with your makeup and looks. Be glad for those who have already got to levels that you hope to get at someday.

Love

Gaby.

I agree and well said Gabriela.

I would like to add a couple of comments regarding "passing" and budgets.

First budgets, I can't afford to keep up with all the new fashion trends in cloths and makeup. I buy a lot of items from the Salvation Army Thrift Store or other non-profit store. I do buy some cloths that are "in fashion" but most items are timeless. And I am on mailing lists to let me know when they are having a discount day.

Makeup is not only daunting to learn but it can be very expensive. I try to buy drugstore brands such as ELF and Maybelline. I look for deals and will hit the stores on Boxing Day when that $30 eyeshadow palette goes on sales. Also I do a lot of review research on Google to see what the product is like and if there are any drugstore brands that are a good substitute for a brand like MAC.

Many get down on themselves because they believe they cannot "pass". Don't look at "passing" but rather set a goal of "blending in". To me "blending in" means the total package and not focusing on facial features. Such as your hair style, the way you dress, walk will go a long way to blending in and enjoying going out with confidence.

Danielle,

Totally in agreement. It is not easy building a second wardrobe if you may be living day by day at the time. Which is a problem also for women in similar situations. So, there are still ways to be frugal and get some classic styles as you are recommending.

One thing I want to add to this topic.... yes, there are some great looking girls visiting this site. However, from them, many are in the process or have already transitioned. Or have been in hormones or are living at least part time as females. And even more... there are at least some fakes posting pics from real beautiful females. Hopefully people may stop feeding the fakes. No idea why they gain of being told how gorgeous they are knowing that it is not them in the photographs.

Anyway back to subject... it is human nature to be jealous of others, and even envious. But it is likely that it has come to a cost for them. So, yes, it is great having people to inspire you. But not everybody is willing or wanting to sacrifice all to get ehere they are at.

Love

Gaby

The most important thing to remember is that we’re all in this together.  No matter how far along we are on our respective journeys or how lofty our goals are.  None of us is competing against one another, but rather celebrating  this wonderful and mysterious lifestyle that very few will ever get to experience.  Even if just once, you slipped on a pair of your mom’s pantyhose or your wife’s brassiere...and felt your heart skip a beat...then you’re one of us, and you belong.
