Dipping nails for Keystone

I'm planning on getting dipping nails for Keystone.  

For those that don't know, dipping nails are kind of like acrylics, I guess.  First, nail extensions are glued onto each fingernail.  Then they "paint" a base color on you nail and then dip the nail into a powder in your choice of colors.  Then, paint and dip, paint and dip, until the nail is thick enough.  The result is a vey long nail, with a single color all the way through.

I have a regular nail salon where I get my mani/pedis done.  But, as far as I know, they don't do dipping nails.  But, I walked into another salon nearby to see if they do dipping nails.  They do.  Just to make sure, I asked them to show me the jars of powder.

Yesterday, I went back there (in person) to make an appointment for dipping nails, next Wednesday, before leaving town for Keystone.  I got a different nail tech than the first time, and I told her I wanted to make an appointment for dipping nails.  She was kind of disbelieving, especially when I conformed that the appointment was for me.  She started asking a bunch of questions, like do I want them long, with color, etc.  I answered politely, Yes, and Yes. 

Then, I decided to show them a pic to let them know what I wanted, and to ensure them that I knew what I was asking for.  I pulled out a pic for when I had dipping nails done at Keystone a couple of years ago.  I also decided to show them a pic of me in a dress.  "Is that you?  Very pretty", she said.  Then I decided to show her a pic of of me in my long, red, sequined evening gown from Keystone 2023.  It's a very glam dress.  Once I showed it to a GG is Sally's Beauty and she said, "I don't even have a dress like that."  I took that to mean Steffi had arrived.

So, if everything goes as planned, expect to see me at Keystone from Wednesday through Sunday, with long, polished dipping nails, color TBD.
