I was out with a bunch of lovely ladies last week for an informal dinner/get together at a public venue, a few of them are CDH members. It was a wonderful evening and great to meet many of them for the first time.

For me, I don't feel it necessary to go all out with hair and make-up, even when presenting in public. While my outfit was ok, if not a little conservative for my norm, and I did do a bit of make-up for the event, I opted to go without the wig, and was quite comfortable within myself. I am myself most of the time and don't try very hard to hide.

But....that means I don't typically blend in, which draws attention to not only me, but those I associate with around me.

These other lovely ladies spend the extra time and effort to fit in with the mainstream and expand acceptance, and do a pretty good job I might add, only to be recognized as not I feel by being in my company, which possibly goes against their wished endevours.

Much of our dressing choices are based on the situation we are going to be in, and this experience has left me wanting to try harder in my future attempts so that all involved can get the most out of the experience.

As always it seems, finding a balance with others we spend time with in our journey is key.

Hugs to all the ladies and their effort

Olivia

Everyone has their own individuality,  i am sure that the ladies excepted you the way you were. Just as you excepted them as they were. It dies not matter what the people around you thought as long as you all were comfortable with the real you kisses

Hi Shannon

Acceptance within the group, in either direction, was not an issue. I am quite comfortable with who I am and how I dress when out and about by myself.
