Today was a good day shopping. Yumi is "dyeing" her hair red for the concert. Bought some new underthings from Torrid. And, skeptically went to Macy's to see if they had anything in 12W. The clerk didn't think they had anything, but she did search the Last Chance rack for me. One 12 Wedge fit close enough, that I could stretch just a bit to be comfortable.
But then she handed me a 12 open toed pump, and it fit! To our surprise, it was actually a wide width. Got my purchases home, and changed to go to dinner. Of course wearing my new shoes, and concerned if I could handle driving with a heel.
I have found that driving in heels can be dicey. Anything up to 2" is fine and chunky heels up to 3" is manageable. Pumps of 3", stilettos or platforms are dangerous. Alternately I have a pair of 4" heeled thigh high winter boots that work fine while driving. Go figure.
Generally though, high heels and driving don't mix. I've noticed that most women carry a pair of flats or tennis shoes to wear or go barefoot while driving.

Personally, I would never drive in heels.
Well, I had to try it a least once. I actually have more problems stepping on both brake and accelerator pedals in my work boots.
When I'm dressed I always wear heels, at lest 3" or more.
The first few times I did drive it was to many new things to be excited over that I didn't even think about the "drive in heels" part and just drove off.
Since then I been driving in heels a lot and now even remember to use better heels for driving. If in 5" stiletto I'm more concerned about breaking the stiletto heel than be bad at driving. Because of that I normally use shoes/boots with some kind of blockheel when driving.

Maybe you should drive to work in heels then. 😉
Of course, once they come up with a steel-toed, open-toed pump.😋
Anytime I wear any kind of heels that is not a wedge i take them off while I'm driving. I have also read studies that say barefoot driving is safer. I don't mind either because I get to show off my toes and I like my bare feet to get some air after a long day.
Hi Yumi
I have never driven in high heels, in the UK it's not illegal to drive in high heels. However if you have an accident you can be charged with careless driving.

Not sure if it still is so, but it used to be illegal to drive barefoot in Ontario, Canada.
That being said, I have driven no problem in my 3 inch wedges, but haven't tried stilleto's or block heels.

I would be so worried about scarring up my heels I would think.
actually driving in them Im sure would be a challenge.
I have driven in 4' wedges and it wasn't that hard.
