It's snowing out. I just walked out on the deck in open toe heels. It was COLD! Duh!! Haha. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Slippery for sure!!

@kapt That sounds like a health & safety nightmare. Also it would ruin my shoes & as I only have the one pair that would be a crime 🙂

@kapt Quick answer NO!

Firstly because they aren't insulated and as you said It's Cold.

Secondly because leather doesn't take well to getting wet like that and it would most likely ruin a nice pair of heels.

Thirdly because, well, They're Heels. Traction is not one of their strong suits in the first place and adding slippery snow beneath them is a recipe for an unintended snow angel. Besides not being pretty I'd then be pretty wet. LOL.

Only in heeled boots. But more typically in flat boots.

Hi Rikki,

Winter lasts a long time in the northeast. Haven’t gone out in high heels.  I had to carry them with me.  One must have boots when it snows.  As you found out snow is slippery.

It is usually something that I avoid.  As snow is usually accomplanied by ice, I prefer better footing than is generally provided by heels.

Rikki -

I've never tried walking in the snow in heels. I don't know if I would as the risk of slipping and falling is too high for me.

I did take the dog out one morning while wearing heels and learned very quickly that stilettos sing in the grass.

XOXO

I recently went out on a outing in ankle boots with 2 1/2 heels.  The snow was about 3 inches in places.  Fortunately I did not have any issues.

when i go out at night and come home after it snows. i usually take my shoes off and walk up to the house barefoot. it's a little cold, but i don't want to ruin my shoes or slip and fall.

Have I? Yes, and it is something I try to avoid. Like so much of fashion it is about looking good and not being functional. Women are at a massive disadvantage in cold weather. About the only time a dress is an advantage in cold weather is if you are standing over a floor heater vent.😁

I've run in the snow wearing spikes. It get's a bit tricky if you land on a patch of ice.

I've never gone out in heels in the snow but if I did and fell at least the snow pack would cushion the blow! Happy Woman Face

Only if I wanted a broken bone or sprained ankle and miss all the fun for 3 months.  My heels go in my bag and I wear my boots to and from the door at winter events (and on the deck too).  Safe Journey, Marg
