Less is  more. You can minimize the eye makeup behind your glasses because due to reflection and glare most people can’t notice it anyway. So keep it to a minimum and show only what needs to stand out. Mascara on top lashes and a little on bottom, but accentuate the eyebrows which are above the glass frames. Make nice and arched and refined , those will be seen. Maybe a slight sweep of darker eyeshadow in the crease. You need nothing more.

Great question Wren!!! Especially since I just got home from purchasing makeup. I was amazed I got no looks looking through the eye shadow and mascara!!!!

If you are referring to the application stage, I bought some makeup glasses which are essentially a frame that only has the lower part and a lens which rotates left/ right so you can focus with the other eye and still access eyelids and eyebrows.  I used the excuse that I needed it for when a contact lens moved (never have this happen, lol).

I am a contact wearer, so I need to take them out to see what I’m doing since I’m older and can’t see up close with the contacts in my eyes.  I did discover a unique problem though one time.  I had taken the contacts out to apply eye makeup, and then put them back in.   After that I had put on some medium length press on nails to finish everything off.  When it came time to go to sleep, I needed to take out the contacts.  I couldn’t find a good way to do it without poking myself in the eye.  I really wanted to keep the nails for the next day, but couldn't.  Anyone else have any experience with this.  It was my first time with long nails, I loved them.

Wren,

I have the same problem. Even though I have a large, lighted makeup mirror, the blurriness is still not completely gone and my depth perception is off. Eye shadow I can do but I'm having a hell of a time with false lashes and eyeliner and am so frustrated. I'm going to look at makeup glasses as per Tina's suggestion & see if that helps.

Removing contacts with long nails is definitely an acquired skill.  This is what I do.

With my free hand I hold my eyelids further apart similar to when you put contacts in.  With my other hand I use the flat part of my index finger to slide the contact to the outer corner of my eye.  From there I can grab it between my index finger and thumb.  It takes a little dexterity and practice but it's not that hard.

Thank you for the tip.  I will try that.

But I’m still betting that I poke myself in the eye.  Such a klutz.  At least I’ve learned to use the camera and tablet with those nails  on.  That was a big step.  I used the flat index finger trick on my phone and tablet.  I’m guessing that I gave up too easily.  Lots to learn on these new adventures.  I do appreciate all the advice that you can get here.

I was looking at your photos, you are very beautiful.  I will definitely follow your advice, thanks.  Maybe I can look half as good as you do.

I use a 1x/10x lighted wall mounted makeup mirror . There are an overwhelming amount tutorials online for application tips. I usually apply a lid primer first, then sweep the lid and crease with a light color, then gently tap a darker shade of the same color from the center of the lid outwards. Lately I have been experimenting with a more awake look by applying some white shadow with s tiny brush  to the inner corners of the eye and 1/4 way across the lower lid along the lash line.
A few more tips to try -

Mascara- When applying to one eye try closing the opposite eye .

Blush- Smile and then sweep the apples of the cheeks up and then blend downward.

I think working my phone and tablet is harder than contacts.  You can do this!

Thanks for the nice compliments.  Good makeup is magic.
