One of the reasons I don't post pictures. I have thought about headless pictures so that may be a consideration, will have to see.

Thanks for the information though it is very helpful.

XOXO

Scary stuff.  I have been considering removing my public pictures and just posting to the private area for fear of exposure.  After much thought though I came to the conclusion that if it happens it happens.  I'm tired of living my life in fear of discovery.  I plan to continue to be discreet but just not lose sleep over worries about discovery.

@michellemybell That’s  where I’m at Michelle. I haven’t done public pics because I came to the conclusion that my pics are only for fellow sisters here on the site who are devotees of the lifestyle. They have detailed profiles and pics of their own. They’re not for some drive-by lurkers to look at. I just don’t see any upside to posting public pics.

That said, if someone were still to somehow discover Grace, well, lucky for them🤣

@michellemybell I'm very much of the same mindset Michelle. And I sort of think that the private photos section is a bit clunky. Oh, and you have some lovely pics xx.

The other side of this has been any real consequences of somebody posting pictures here.

One example was given above, but I recently tried to find out more about a French actor from the '70s by using the best screenshot that I could make. One site did pretty good, plus most reverse FR sites want gobs of money subscriptions, so I still don't have a name yet.

Also recently, I tried to see if I could test finding a kid friend that I knew in school before I was 10, without using Facebook. All I had was a name and a street name. Nothing.

@harriette I was wondering the same thing Harriette. Anyone on here have a good post about the downside of being discovered on CDH?

I suppose we’ll see how really good AI is with the possibility of it identifying that assassin in NYC who shot the United Health CEO to death in broad daylight the other day. Horrifying.

We all know that privacy went away many years ago.  As for facial recognition, I quit posting ANY pictures of me (my face), anywhere a long time ago.  Excepting for CDH, I got off of social media 4 years ago, and honestly did not really miss it.

However, there are cameras everywhere and when we are out dressed we are being photographed and Lord knows where those pictures land.  Just something to consider.

My beautiful wifey and a few close friends know I crossdress, but I do expect someday to be asked, hey is that picture of the gal in the cute dress you?  It will happen.

Having said that, I still get out occasionally, and do not intend to post pictures on the internet.

Technology is not always a good thang.  Just my 2 cents.   Staci...

A few recent examples of face recognition tracking ability:  The gal who disappeared from the LAX last month.  She was tracked in various places in the LA area, and eventually seen crossing into mexico.  The guy who murdered the CEO in NYC a few days ago.  He has been tracked at various places in NYC prior to the murder.

As it goes, one can assume that we are also in those databases too.  Be sure to smile and waive.  Technology...  S

@sf I'll give you another example. Two years ago a woman was chaparoning her daughter's girl scout troop to see the Rockets at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. She was stopped and not allowed to enter. Why? Well she was a lawyer, her law firm was suing the owner because of a personal injury case in a restaurant owned by the same people, and despite the fact that she was not involved in the case, she was not allowed entry.

The same people own Madison Square Garden, and other lawyers have been denied entry to concerts or basketball or hockey games for similar reasons. A number of years ago the basketball team, was in a streak of 15-20 years of being bad. Some of the fans got tired of paying a lot of money for non-competative teams, and were chanting "Sell the team!" The owner was threatening to ban people (using the facial recognition) just for voicing their disapproval! It didn't come down to that, but you can see the potential for misuse of the technology too.

So true Stacy...no doubt our pictures are everywhere if we venture out in public. We are now under constant surveillence. Our pictures and liscense plates and record likely multiple times a day. Putting names to pictures is quite easy, well not for the average person, but it is getting easier every day.

I gave up caring long ago. While I don't announce my dressing publicĺy I also go out in public and am seen by hundreds if not thousands of people each time. I am doing absolutely nothing wrong, so I don't care if somebody manges to but my femme self to my name.

Evidently my DRAB look is very different from my Dressed look.  No matter what picture I submitted it did not find me here.  When I selected even a very bad Dressed picture it found the majority of my pictures here.  Looks like I have nothing to worry about.

@dianas1960 I am very surprised by that. FR software found my CDH photos easily, but very few other photos. It could be have very few photos of me anywhere on the internet. As I recall it only turned up one drab photo, and it was a group photo at that. The others were all from here, and some were removed quite sometime ago to make room for a new photo. Maybe if you have a large number of photos out there it choose the most obvious ones, which are more likely to be dressed in drab photos???

I do not have a lot of drab photos online excluding social media which evidently is not searched.  But I do feel fairly confident that no one would find me on CDH doing a facial scan.

Phone facial match doesn't know Diana.  I got a new Android phone last month and configured facial recognition to log in while Drab.  Diana is not recognized though by the phone and I had to log on with my pin while out and about yesterday..

You raise valuable points Mona. While I do not keep Janet photos on my Google photos I use it as transfer point for storage and I found recently when I experimented that a photo of me dressed certainly came out under my male name. Of course you can stop Google indexing by name and that may be an option for those who are very concerned.
