I'm sure many of us have seen TV shows and films centered around the concept of crossdressing, transgenderism, etc.
So I decided to share a few of my favorite films featuring some of these topics:
1) Just Like A Woman (1992) - This film is my absolute favorite! If you haven't seen it yet, it is a total blast! Watching the main character balance crossdressing, his job and his love-life at the same time is extremely relatable for many of us in some way or another.
2) Cockpit (2012) - This is a foreign film about a pilot who dresses as a woman and ends up running into all sorts of antics, it is quite the hoot. Again, it portrays many relatable obstacles a crossdresser faces in their daily life and the comedy aspect is quite hilarious.
3) He's My Girl (2009) - This is another foreign film about a man who is in an on-and-off relationship with another man who is a crossdresser. I love this film because the crossdresser in this one is portrayed very confidently and his style of makeup and clothing is very subtle but also eye-catching.
4) Transamerica (2005) - This is a great film about a transgender woman and her son who go on a road trip to their family's house. The catch is that the son doesn't know that his father has transitioned and is now living as a woman. It's quite a dramatic film, but has its fair share of laughs and moments of reconciliation.
5) Lenny (2017) - This is a French short film about a man who is a crossdresser and one day his wife comes home early and he is forced to flee his own house to avoid being caught. He meets some colorful characters when he is out-and-about as a girl and the ending is very sweet.
Have you seen any of these films? What are you favorite films or TV shows about crossdressing?
XOXO

The crying game it's so sad but a brilliant film
Can remember watching it on home rental video back in the day and apart from the obvious 'some like it hot' was one of the 1st films I watched and there was a person like me in it and its a bit of a love story and a hostage, murder mish mash set during the troubles in Belfast.
I will have to check them out, thanks.
Hugs, Liara
Hi Cherry!
I'd like to add two more movies, both made a positive impact on me.
1. Different for Girls (1992) - Two school mates reunite years later after one of them transitions MTF. The fellow tries to come to grips with it all. It's a very sweet and touching movie. And there's a cool Ducati motorcycle in the film too!
2. Tucked (2018) - A veteran drag queen with a terminal illness tries to find some peace and understanding with his daughter. It's quite funny, but mostly happy-sad. The actor Derren Nesbitt is awesome!
I'll look up everyone's recommendations!

I loved that one! And especially liked how it was handled, it didn't pander, the trans character just happened to be trans, she was treated as a person, who was loved as she was, in a dark situation.
Haven't seen any of these, going to watch my way down the list 🙂
In my view its certainly a film in my personal top ten! Yes your right it was handled so beautifully and the soldier who was kidnapped was so in love with her as was I as I found her so beautiful and complex too. Its a great film, God knows how they would of pitched it to the money people? Its a film about a trans woman who works for the I.r.a. totally brilliant idea
Hi, Cherry,
Of the movies you listed, I saw “Just Like A Woman” and “Transamerica” (a must-see).
I tried to watch “He’s My Girl”, but it just didn’t resonate with me. I don’t think I even watched the entire movie.
I’d love to watch “Cockpit”, judging by the trailer on YouTube, but don’t know where the full movie is available.
Never heard of “Lenny“ and can’t find a trailer for it on YouTube
Here are some of CD/TG movies I’ve seen, and for the most part, they’re all solid, good movies. One or two are great movies (IMHO):
“Boy Meets Girl” – my all time favorite; the main character, a T-girl, is played by an actual trans girl
“Soldier’s Girl” – Lee Pace plays a fantastic role as Calpernia Addams; the ending, however, is horrifically brutal and impossible for me to watch.
“The Danish Girl” – Eddie Redmayne…. Beautiful portrayal
“The New Girlfriend” – a French movie, worth a look
“Different for Girls” -- fair; about a trans girl that actually transitioned, who meets “by accident” with an old school chum who knew her in her male incarnation
“Ma Vie en Rose” – French movie; it’s worth a look, but nothing to knock your stockings off
“The Crying Game” – too depressing to be one of my favs, but Jaye Davidson makes for a lovely trans girl
Cillian Murphy plays a CD/TG to very good effect in these two movies: “Breakfast on Pluto” and “Peacock”
“All the Queen’s Men” was pretty good, although the crossdressing leaves something to be desired.
“Victor/Victoria” starring the exquisite Julie Andrews as a “woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman”. It could be considered in the crossdressing genre.
“To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar” – Oh, but to look half as good as Patrick Swayze did in this movie!!
“Zerophilia”, not exactly a CD/TG movie, maybe more of a “transformation” movie about a group of folks with a rare genetic condition that allows them to change from a man to a woman and back again. Weird, but worth a look.
And finally, two movies I’m dying to see (but may never get to see before I die):
“Rubbeldiekatz” – a German movie about a guy who plays a woman’s role in a “Hitler movie”, and is, I would say, 100% passable
“Girl” – Belgian movie in French, about a pre-op T-girl longing to be a ballerina, who is just soooo beautiful she’ll bring tears to your eyes. I’m told this one is available on Netflix streaming, to which, unfortunately, I am not a subscriber.
Hey, Barb, I just checked YouTube and watched a trailer to "Tucked" (2018). I'm putting this one on my watch list!
Oh! One more. My eyes don't see it listed.
Carlotta (2014) - from Australia.
Based on a true story about transitioning, fame and family. A bit heavy in parts. Have your Kleenex handy.

wow, I did not realize here were so many out there. thanks for sharing.
Stonewall and Priscilla queen of the desert
I forgot to mention that Lenny is officially available for free on Youtube, you can watch it here:
There are no English subtitles, but it is pretty self-explanatory as to what happens in it.
