My top favourite female name has always been Nyssa since seeing it used in Dr Who, decades ago. It is common in Greece and the Middle East. In Greece, it means truth.
I’m late to this discussion, but my favourite names are:
Athena
Artemis
Sally
Susan
Christine (yes, my name)
Angela/Angie
Sophie
Sonia
Helene/Helena/Helen/Elena
Kyoko
Hitomi
…sorry that’s 11, but a girl is allowed to bend the rules a bit right?
Harriette, Nyssa means ambition or beginning (greek), but has other meanings in Hebrew (sign) and Arabic (Woman) and Latin (end). Alethia (not sure of the spelling in English) is “truth” in greek. Sorry to be pedantic.
But indeed Nyssa is a lovely feminine name.
