Good Evening Ladies,
First of all, I'd like to take this time to send a heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent me messages, prayers and good thoughts regarding my Mom's passing, last week. It makes my heart feel so warm to know you are all out there. The responses were so numerous, I was unable to get to everyone. But I thank you 🙂
2 weeks ago, I had told my therapist, Jessica, of 6 years, that I had some big news for her at our next session in two weeks. She was excited.
As a photographer, I hatched this ruse whereby I produced 5 shoots,in my studio, all of me in various outfits of my own design and construction(I've sewed professionally for 30 years). I culled the ten photos I liked the best and made 8x10" proofs.
Yesterday was "D" day. I sat down, handed her the manilla envelope and she opened it up. She is an artist herself and has "The Eye" She made very insightful comments on every one and gave me her impressions. It was awesome! As an artist, I've always said " Good or bad, art should evoke an emotion. It is apathy that is the true enemy of an artist."
At that point, it got real quiet and she looked me in the eye. I said "My mom was right" to which she responded, "About what?" "Mom always told me I had beautiful legs. That is me in the photos. The model story was a ruse in case I chickened out. I have have been a CD'r for 53 years."
She smiled a very big smile and said "Thank you for honoring me by telling me" "This is so awesome" "Now a lot of things are making sense" Then, she blew me away by asking me if I wanted to be called Jassy during our sessions and offered to tell me that if I ever wanted to attend our sessions, dressed, that I was welcome to do that!
Is short, for lack of a better word, it was awesome. She more than reinforced my thought that I had made the right decision by telling her. Now I believe she can treat me in a more comprehensive way, that she knows everything.
Thanks for being with me in spirit this week!! It means so much. I told her all about you. And she was elated that I had found you ladies.

Wow what an awesome way to get your message across Jasmine, and it's wonderful that it's was received with such a welcoming response. We mentioned the point here on another post the other day another girl explained to her therapist about her experience and time on CDH and how helpful it was to her. As we discussed it's shame that therapist and CDH can't combine or a least CDH can't be recognized and recommended by them as an outlet to help girls socialize and realise they are not alone and have others to talk to. Well Jasmine I hope you do a session dressed as Jasmine I am sure that would be fabulous therapy, and I have a feeling your therapist would love to see Jasmine for her self. Please thank her from the girls on here. Lol Amanda xx
HI Amanda, thanks so much for your insight and comments. Thats a very cool idea about linking us and therapists. While I don't think they are at liberty to recommend specific sites, I think they could interject that there are some very wonderful support sites online. At least point them in the right direction. I will sure sure mention it to her.
She knows what power she wields over me as a therapist because I have told her in so in those words. She could have easily destroyed me , in just a few , short sentences but chose the light side of the Force. She's not treating me like there is something wrong or that I need to be "Fixed" She accepts me for who I am and I love that!!
