Some girls asked me to post on my (then) up coming electrolysis experience... it was today.
It took about an hour, for me it didn't hurt any more than plucking my eyebrows or even less painful that that. The lady was quite chatty & friendly. It was only $70/hour. She said it would take ten or so visits to do my entire beard. I'll be going once a week. She has been doing this for 45 years.
The ONLY issue I have with the whole thing is... why did I wait soooo many years to do it???

What areas did you have done? I have always heard that it is extremely painful so your experience surprises me. I am currently doing laser on my face and I know the upper and lower lip areas HURT. It's doing a good job on my dark hairs (i.e. the 5:00 shadow) but laser doesn't touch the whites. I've contemplated electrolysis for the whites but been gun-shy due to the pain and the # of hours needed. Would love to hear more details on your experience.
As the process progresses I'll let you know more about the pain, etc... I think the 10 sessions might have been a bit optimistic also, but time will tell. I think it also has to do with how dense your beard is as well. It also might have a bit to do with the speed/efficiency of the operator ... just guessing here. Either way, I'm committed to finish it either way.
As for the pain... everyone has their own tolerance level for pain, mine may be quite high? The technician said under the nose & by the lips are the most painful. She started on the upper cheek..

I believe the lip & near nose might hurt the worst, as it’s the same area that hurts the worst when ladies have waxing done. Must be all the same nerve endings that make kissing what it is 💋
