Hi Everyone, As I shared in my introduction my life took a very different turn when my mother discovered me as Maggie a few months ago.  She has been accepting and encouraging in more ways than I could hope for and has been helping me with my look.  This week we will be going dress shopping together for the first time with me totally dressed as Maggie.  I'm both excited and terrified at this level of exposure.

@maggied Terror and excitement seem to go together quite often. But if you can get through the terror, the excitement and thrill will be incredible. Good luck to you in your shopping adventure. I hope it's exciting and thrilling for you.

Excitement and terror are part and parcel, but I know you'll smash it. Let us know how it goes... and what you buy!

@maggied

I've been out shopping for clothes several times now with my sister, and once with my Mother.

I've never been en femme while doing it, in the sense of actually setting out dressed ... but we have selected clothes together which I then tried on in store.

At one time, I would have found the thought of doing this both exciting AND terrifying.

When I actually did it for the first time I felt a sense of absolute calm and acceptance.

It was wonderful.

@maggied have a wonderful time . You are well along the path to happiness there . It has taken me many years to go from running into a shop nervously and grabbing the nearest suitable to browsing and takingy time , trying on even in drab . It's wonderful

Thrilled for you Maggie!  What a special Mom!  She must be so happy to have a new daughter, whom she already knows and loves!  Finally, you are the REAL you!

Yes, you will be nervous, but once you step into the store and start the actual process all that nervousness will disappear and you will find yourself enjoying the whole experience.

I felt it the first time I had a bra fitting, bought a dress en femme, or had a make-over, but the nerves disappeared and I enjoyed the experience every time.

Enjoy

Oh, and do report back on how it goes. I love stepping-out stories as I am sure others here do as well.

That’s wonderful Maggie,

Excited and terrified is exactly how I’ve felt  each time I’ve been out as Lucy.

You go girl, and as JJ says, don’t forget to report back on how it went

Hugs

Gosh.  it's difficult to recall my first shopping experience.   I believe it was in San Antonio at a relatively discount type store.  I bought 3 or 4 pairs of panties and 2 bras.  I was scared to death but excited at the same time.

since then, i have ventured into Macy's, Sax 5th, Nordstroms, Soma™, Maidenform™, Olga Warners, tons of small boutiques that have high end stuff.

I thoroughly enjoy going not only big department stores and wandering through the various women's clothing departments such as dresses, lingerie, swimming, leotards and workout wear as well as everything else.  Of course,  I love the lingerie department  the various brands, styles, fabrics, designs, the soft colors.  I absolutely love doing the walk through and browsing through the whole department.  I've even gotten more confident about letting a woman help me find certain items.  It's embarrassing but less so now.  I'm not sure they even care, especially these days.

I've even gotten sprayed with perfume at the Galeria in Dallas as I was leaving Sax.  I protested a bit but she had apparently seen me browsing through the women's departments and thought I needed that.  I told her okay and she sprayed me.  I was initially taken aback but thought about going back and getting a blast spray and walk through smelling girly.

Thank you all so much for the encouragement.  Last night was the night!  It's funny how much time I worked on getting dressed to go shopping.  Mom encouraged me to go as basic as possible, so I wore jeans and this cute top.  I like it because it accents my breasts when I have forms on, but still looks pretty low key.  I had a discussion with my mother about this because I'm never quite sure what to do with my breasts.  Hers are not so big, so she told me she doesn't think about them in outfits too much.  My forms are pretty large and I like them like that.  She did my makeup for me and I felt really good about the look.

We went to a Macy's and I felt like a kid in a candy store.  It wasn't too crowded, so I was able to mostly avoid close contact with other people.  I did almost freeze up when I had to take clothing into the fitting room, but mom gave me the push I needed to go in.  I ended up going a little crazy and buying six dresses and two pairs of shoes because I was such a high.  They're all great, but this one is my favorite - https://www.macys.com/shop/product/calvin-klein-womens-envelope-neck-front-slit-dress?ID=17294807

All in all it was a great experience and I'm so appreciative of my mother for giving it to me.
