Hi everyone, so my first time shopping or should say my first lady purchase at a store took some planning. I first went to the store's web site, searched for the items I was looking for, wrote down the aisle and bin#, I also looked and determined the slowest or not so busy times were for the store. I went in and right to the item and then went to the self check out. Have any of you gone through a similar experience?

Congratulations Katey!!!

My first time shopping was for groceries.

I had been playing with makeup during the evening and I was going to remove it before I went out shopping but it was later in the evening and thought it would be quiet in the store so I put on a dress and headed out.

I kept my head down picked up the few things I needed and went to self check out.

While I was going out a man let me go through the exit first.

It was a huge accomplishment for me and had a huge smile on my face when I got home.

Jessica

Hi Emily, it sure did. I’ve done it a few more times since then and it seems like it’s getting a little easier each time. Thank you for your reply

I've been buying my own pantyhose since I was 13. No big deal. Go in the store, find what I wanted, pay and leave. At 17, when it came time to buy other things it was also no big deal. I went in the store, bought some short shorts and bras, paid and left.

When it became a big deal was when I thought it would be exciting to wear pantyhose with my short shorts and go buy more pantyhose. I was at the store and chickened out many times. Finally I was at the entrance. It was the moment of truth. Go in the store or turn back. I went in the store, went over to the pantyhose, chose several pairs in my size, went to the register and stood in line with others in front of and behind me. I was nervous, but I paid and left. It had been scary but oh so exciting.

Then maybe I should wear a bra and go buy some more bras and why not some more pantyhose? Now I had my bra and pantyhose on. My bra was visible through my shirt and of course my pantyhose was in my short shorts. I went to a store and picked out a couple of bras. Then over to the pantyhose and picked out several pairs in my size. I was nervous but excited. I went to the cashier, stood in line, paid and left. What a thrill and rush that was.

Then I decided I needed some shoes. Off to the shoe store in my pantyhose and short shorts. I chickened out so may times. It was crazy. One morning I got the nerve to go in. I went right over to the platform wedges, took a pair and tried them on. Way to small. Oh no! Tried on the next size. Tight fit. On to the next size. I hadn't planned on this. I figured go in, try on a pair, buy them and leave as quickly as possible. People were coming in and looking at me. I was getting nervous but didn't want to leave without shoes. The next size pair fit perfect. I slipped them on, stood up in them and walked to a mirror. But there was more pairs. Which did I like best. I went back, tried all of them on and walked around checking them out in the mirrors. I was getting thumbs up and yes nods. This was so crazy and fun. I ended up buying 6 pairs and wearing a pair out of the store.

There was so many more shopping trips partially dressed. Then a year later I dressed fully femme and began going out. It was very exciting and scary.

That's how it starts! Soon you will feel comfortable enough to where the time of day et al, won't matter!

Keep it going!

In the beginning, I only used the self-checkout counter; my first purchase from a real SA (I was en femme) was a "white knuckle" experience. But now, I love to shop, and whether drab or Dressed makes no difference.

I didn't want to get carried away writing a book about all my adventures. These were just a few early adventures. Thinking about doing it was exciting. Actually trying to do it was scary. But once I manged to get the nerve it was so incredibly exciting and a thrill and rush like nothing else.

Glad you had a good experience. I could relate to it well.

Hi Katey.

Congratulations...well planned and well thought out.... you'll soon be confident enough to go through the checkouts....

grace loves shopping, even chatting to the checkout girls/ boys...sometimes in the supermarket she shops every aisle....twice.

One tip....if buying clothes, make sure all the security tags are removed before you leave the store....that could be embarrassing!!........unless you fancy being frisked by a security guard...mmmm

Huggs, grace x

The one time my first going in store was the first night stepped out in the world. Was not planned just decided to go for little drive. Dressed up it was kinda late in the night so figure be the best shot to get my feet out the door. So while driving it dawned on me that did need something from the store. So was all dressed in fem  clothing and said to myself could go home change or stop with out making another trip to store. So pulled in to parking lot of a super walmart waited for min  or 2 maybe 30 giggles. then got out went in went to what needed walked around picked up few more things and checked out. bumped into few other people shopping and said hello said hello  back in my best fem voice can do. So got home and thought wow that was hard but was easy. Rest is history Donna started going out more now during daytime night time. Wishing could do Donna full time but only on weekends for me. rest of time still wear some fem clothing like bra and panties sometimes stockings depending on what wearing. It does get little easier each time.
