For as long as I've been dressing up I've wanted a French Maid outfit. For one reason or another I've never been able to get one. I found one I really liked on Amazon and ordered it. It never arrived and my money was returned. I saw another one. I ordered it and it was much too small. I saved it because who knows? It might fit someone some day. After two attempts to purchase one I have given up on the idea. I either don't like the look, or crap like I just posted happens. Does anyone else have an outfit or costume they really want but just can't seem to get it?
I wish I’d known you wanted one Nikki. I mast threw one away a couple weeks ago.
I'm ordering one on AliExpress. This is Asian sizing, so must measure yourself and go by chart, not usual USA size.
I saw an awesome one at Party City. they were going out of business and I got huge discount. I ordered a different pair of upgraded nylons elsewhere though
I'm prolly not alone in my quest for this outfit I'm thinking
I have one that I like to slip into for housework on occasion. It’s definitely not the best choice for hard work I will say, but I think it’s worth it for the effect lol …
I love French maid outfits!
Personally, I find I have to mix and match to get the look I'm after. I quite enjoy perusing sites like Temu and Shein but their sizes are quite small. I always make sure I check the sizes. It was a little frustrating in the beginning but now I know roughly what sizes to order ordering is usually ok.
I'm really enjoying the sexy clubbing party girl look atm, but I also really enjoy gorgeous summer floral dresses. It just has to look and feel right.
I once ordered $200 worth of stuff. The courier dropped it off at the wrong address.. in the same street as me! 😱 I was freaking out as I dress discreetly.. Temu refunded the whole amount, the person who it was incorrectly delivered to dropped my package off at my door the next day unopened, so I got the whole lot for $0.00 lol.
Etsy is your friend. They cost real money but you can get them tailored for your actual measurements and there are tons of styles.
Well I own one I found on eBay. Love to wear it but don’t get a lot of opportunities to wear it. I had to have one because I thought it would be a fun outfit. It is fun to wear with heels and stockings. -Traci
Mine was always a Cheer leading costume. I have wanted one since I was a teenager and fell in love with the head cheerleader. (she never new my name). After 50 years of searching for one I finally found it at Spirit Halloween 2 years ago.
For what its worth, Leanne's Pretty Dresses ( https://leannesprettydresses.net/) is having a St. Patricks Day 50% off sale on custom-fit dresses... as per the comment about Etsy stores, these are real money too... but they appear to have very nice stuff... The sale DOES END SOON... so don't dawdle.
I asked my wife if I might make a purchase and was talked out of it because of all the stuff going on in the world at the moment....
Agreed about the French maid outfit. Still looking too.
I’ve always wanted to try on a sweater dress or one of those Christmas onesies. If you know what I mean…
I wore one at a UK dressing service circa 30 years ago. "Scratched that itch" and ditched the photos not long after,

I have several maids dresses. The first one is pink and so short, I have shirts with a lower hemline. But adding a tutu petticoat gives me just the right amount of modesty. I even served at my friend's party one night wearing it (I handed her the keys, too). And I repurposed it as a fairy outfit by adding wings and a tiara.
I got a floor length black outfit that was supposed to lock on at the wrist, neck, waist and legs. The wrists were so loose that I had to resew D rings closer. The same went for the waist. I bought a tulip petticoat to go with this outfit.
Another one was gotten from my friend when she was going out of business. When I got it, the dress fit but the neckline was too tight. After a battle with cancer, I lost a lot of weight so the neck fit, but the zipper didn't stay up so I added a ribbon loop to keep the zipper up at the neckline. This is black with a white applique and built-in apron.
The last dress is more of a multipurpose one. It is all white, and could be a maids dress, communion dress, or short wedding dress. I wore this a few years ago on Halloween while walking my neighborhood. There are pictues in my public profile of this outfit as a bride.
Not the outfit, but the experience. I saw a faux leather blazer on sale at Walmart online. Ordered it; a few days later, it was arbitrarily canceled/refunded by the merchant/shipper. Went back to the Walmart site; it was still showing as available, so I figured it had been just a glitch and tried again. Got a tracking number that showed it entering the US, but nothing for weeks after. I finally conceded and requested to cancel; and my money was refunded again. *Sigh*, really wanted it, but have acquired a couple other blazers (but not faux leather), one of which I've worn out in public, so I guess that urge is sated... 😉
