Hi Everyone!

Today I started playing a new video game. Shin Megami Tensi V Vengence. Interesting that the main character is male but looks quite femme to me. They asked for a first name, I put Autumn. They asked for a last name I put Valiant. After a short story involving students in a high school in Tokyo, Autumn Valiant is transported into a future post apocalypse version of Tokyo where there are demons everywhere. Not to worry a sort of Angelic spirit bonds with Autumn Valiant and her appearance changes drastically. Suddenly she (he ?)has very long flowing blue hair, and a form fitting suit reminiscent of a super hero. I haven't gotten far into the story yet, but the Angelic fused mind gives instructions and sounds very male. The whole time the main character is referred to with male pronouns but the presentation screams female. I fell like I am playing a CD dual spirit character.

I was wondering if anyone has played this game and what they think of how the main character is presented.

I was also wondering if there are any other video games out there that either subtlety or  obviously present gender in a way that ladies like us can appreciate.

I would love to know

Hugs,

Autumn

Fusion of two souls

I'm gonna go with 'Fusion of two timelines' because it's the only way I'll have the time for video games 🤣

The only game I've ever played was one that came free with a copy of PC World around 30 years ago ... Commander Keen.

After a day in which my ex and I played it for 12 hours solid, to the exclusion of everything else, until we'd each completed it, I vowed never to go near anything similar ever again.

I get drawn into them too easily 🙁

It was a misprint.

I meant to write 'Stan'.

@melodeescarlet I love Skyrim. I played through the base game without expansions 3 times. Had to do thief, assassin, and "wizard". All female characters, of course.

Many hours can just disappear that's for sure.  My weaknesses were sim and strategy games.  I loved Sim City and Civilization.  I don't have the time or the mindset for them now.

@ellyd22 Ich auch, Ellie (that’s almost the only German I know Ellie!). I get addicted to anything but then stop it dead. I wasted soooo much time playing PacMan 🤓

Post-apocalyptic, Doom, shoot outs, space wars, why can't someone write a game that let's you win by just chillin' out while watching pretty colours, with a psychedelic/prog soundtrack? I'd pay for that.

Sid Meier's Civilization still keeps me occupied, to the exclusion of any other game. Not I, II, IV, V, VI. It has to be CIV III.

@augustvaliant sounds fun, love the way Japanese creators blend genders more than western companies. Just for pure character creation, cyberpunk the game has such a rich character creation. You can select any gender expression regardless of character biology. Fun little way to play as a character you identify with.

I used to write text adventure games, aka Scott Adams style when I was a teen...wow that was a long time ago..Recently I've found a few modern era games out there that were interesting. I remember their plots but dont remember the name of the game. And I can't describe the plots here as they would violate the rules of CD heaven.

Counter Strike 2. No long-winded preamble, no tedious grinding, just two-minute skirmishes that you can dip into when you have a spare moment and fancy shooting someone in the head (or get it done to you).

I wish I knew what you were talking about. Does 'Snakes' on my little Nokia count?
