Hello-I didn't see a particular forum for this-so I'm putting it in general chat. If it goes elsewhere I understand.

For those women here who are transitioning, have transitioned, or for those women here who have worked with a therapist and/or any other professionals on gender identity issues, who have you seen? Who do you recommend? Who have you heard others recommend?

I worked with someone for a couple of sessions, but then got the sense that they were not the right person and need to seek another person to help-perhaps people.

Thanks for any suggestions or insights.

Also-of course I've used Google and done some leg work already. However, I have more confidence in a recommendation from this group.

I googled LGBTQ friendly therapists. I found “Transformational Choices” and they are very supportive and understanding. I am using them now and have BC/BS also.  Traci

@traci429 looks like they only work within Michigan. Thanks for the referral anyway. No one else has had much experience or replied one way or the other.

When you search your area for a counselor, look for someone who belongs to AASECT and WPATH. Also should be a Certified Sex Therapist (CST).

Thank you! Exactly the type of specific targeted skill set I am interested in seeking. Finding them who will accept insurance across state lines and available on video add another layer of navigation-but this helped me find someone! Thank you thank you thank you!
