Want to share my experience over the last couple weeks.
A few weeks ago my wife and I went for mani-pedi's which we do every couple months. I got a light pink gel on my toes and clear gel with a pink tint on my fingers. Last week I attended a meeting and after the meeting one of the women came up to me and complimented me on my nails (fingers only as I was wearing closed toe shoes). I thanked her and told her my wife and I go for mani-pedi's every couple months. She said she tried talking her husband into going to get his nails done but he won't do it. Then yesterday I was at lunch with some ladies and a couple of them asked if I had a manicure. I told them the same thing. They also said they would like to get their husbands to do the same but they won't. I told them there are a lot of men that fo to the nail salon to get their nails done, especially their feet.
It felt wonderful to have my manicure noticed and commented on in a positive way. It's little things like that that make me feel good without having to out myself. Has me thinking that with the holidays coming I may need to get some holiday appropriate earrings to wear instead of my usual studs or hoops when I go out.
XOXO

Congratulations on getting noticed. Unfortunately, it also demonstrates the gender-phobia that still exists. Getting a manicure or pedicure has been so much associated with women that many men refuse to do it, even if it doesn't involve any polish on their nails.
I have had several comments about my nails nearly.all.positive or at worst neutral. All where while in otherwise drab mode. Most just complememt the color, and most were from.women, but I have had to comments from men. One said he loved my color, and then showed me his immaculately done nails with very detailed designs on them. I just said wow and he said yeah, it takes a lot of time. The other was around my bicycle racing buddies.one asked if I go a manicure and I said yes, and have a clear coat on to help stop splitting, which is true, but I didn't say I do color as well.
I wear color occasionally and nobody cares, but I almost always have a clear coat, which actually does help with cracks and splits. I also frequently wear a Sally Hansen color called Rainbow Rave which is a very light, translucent pink that is almost undetectable except in strong sunlight, and even then barely noticable. Two coats does show more, buy is still subtle except in bright sunlight. I wore it pretty frequently for six months before my wife even noticed.
I was in a nail.salon onve surrounded by a bunch of ladies and one asked if I ger my nails done for myself, or my wife. I just said bot, and that was that. I would.love to get them done often, buy it is so expensive. I already spend $100 a month on waxing.
Would love to go to a nail salon or even a spa weekend , think it is only my self holding me back , would enjoy it once I got there its just plucking up the courage , I know my wife would be up for it and drag me off in a jiffy .
It is a nice story, Suzanne. I am glad for you.
Getting compliments on your nails is a great feeling. In my case it has been very satisfying because I do them myself and combine colors. But I don't usually wear colored ones in male mode.
I could use another pedicure soon.

I’ve had pedicures for over ten years. Both my grandfather and dad had foot problems that led to sores and sepsis. I go with my wife and we get matching color that we pick out together. If people ask my response is that it matches hers. If they persist I say it’s way better than looking at dirty or discolored nails and most men should get their toes colored because their nails are usually grosser than cis girls. I just wish my wife would be the way she is about nails with dressing and makeup.
