I hesitate to post this because I feel like all of my recent posts have been downers, and this is another one, so feel free to skip.  But some of you had asked for updates so here it is.

Last year a couple of weeks before my 50th birthday, I was diagnosed with Stage 3B colon cancer.  I had surgery in December and “clean up” chemo that ended in April.  I just found out yesterday that I have metastasis in my liver so now I’m stage 4.  I’m most likely going to be having liver surgery soon.  I’m trying to stay positive but prognosis is discouraging.  (Overall 5 year survival rate for stage 4 is like 14%, mine may be a little better since it’s only in the liver, but still only 40-50%)

They recently lowered the screening age from   50 to 45.  If you’re of this age, please get screened! There are so many better options when it’s caught early.

Appreciate all the love and prayers you can muster.  Thank you! ❤️

I waited until I was 64 to have my first colonoscopy and they found a  tumor. I was blessed because it hadn't started spreading yet but it required I have a colectomy - the removal of 20 inches of my colon.  Now they recommend I have a colonoscopy every year for at least the next two or three years. I'm okay now but of all the bad and uncomfortable things that happened to me last summer the colonoscopy was by far the least objectionable. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths and it is preventable. Please get screened.

I do a screening every year, and have a colonoscopy every two.
I too urge everyone that is eligible to have them, it is vital, girls.
Hugs, Regi👸💕

Erica,

I know and feel what you are going through. I have stage 2 Prostate Cancer, as far as the doctors know the Cancer has not spread beyond my Prostate but my Gallbladder is filled with Gall Stones and there is a problem with my liver but they haven't figured out just what though. I am going to see my doctor on this coming Thursday and maybe I'll find out what is going on with the liver.

All my Love and Hugs to you Hun. You have my complete Support and Love. If You need or want to talk message me.

Kathleen xxxxx ❤❤❤❤❤
