I'm curious to hear your responses. I am not out to most of my friends. We are part of the theater community in our town, and one of our actor friends is hosting a Halloween Party. I'd like to go as Julie, but do I just put on my best dress? Do I go as Supergirl or Catwoman? Remember, most of these people don't know about my cross dressing, and I'd like to keep it that way. But since they are all performers, I thought drag would be fun and acceptible. So - how far do I go? Guy in a dress? Total Glam? I'm truly looking for helpful suggestions here.
Thanks for your support - both in the past and right now.
I think I'd go as movie character, if you just walk in as Julie it's going to start some questions flying but go right overboard Dr Frankenfurter, go big or stay home.
I'd go glam and in costume - like Catwoman - the Michelle Phifer version! You look like you could pull that off! With the mask on, they might not even guess until you talk, if you don't have a femme voice!
Strut your stuff, GF!

Go all out.
Hugs, Liara
Its Halloween so go over the top like drag queens do.
Julie...
The perfect excuse to go over the top...man in a dress is soooo wrong, and such an utter waste.
Theatre company anyway, so go the whole hog and glam it up, it's a party!!!!!....you snooze, you lose...just my opinion

Seems like this is a pass to go overboard and go full Jessica Rabbit glam!
What a opportunity. Go for it.
Hi Julie Halloween is a time we all know we can be as we wanna be. I would go as Cat woman with 4 inch stilettos and a whip. Just do it right, so others can see your fantasy girl. Those who know about cross dressers will quickly see that you have a special part of you that wants to be seen. It a great way to introduce Julie to your friends. Why not? Life is too short Enjoy it while you can

I’d do some sort of female character from a movie. Dorothy, Marilyn, someone like that or a fictional female character. I’m putting together a witch’s outfit for this year. Let’s see if I follow through.

I agree with you Grace. When I was a teenager and young adult I also was in Theater and one never went halfway You either played the part fully or you didn't play it at all. Go full glam.

Kathleen....in England's theatre land......you would be a "luvvie" !!!!!!
This is what I was going to suggest, Julie can dress up too. May as well let her have some fun.

Hi Julie,
How about a super sexy/tarty nurse? Can never have too many Covid front-line workers!

I did this before I came out to all. I went as a showgirl going all the way. I turned up and it was while before any one realized who it was! It was all taken with good humor and there were no inferences after the event either.
If your friends are of the thespian persuasion then maybe one of the ladies could help you with the makeup and even a wig so it looks as if it is fun. Then see how it goes.
Get there and enjoy but definitely the whole outfit, makeup and hair.
