Ok ladies,

I am exploring my Rebecca persona and have been out in full femme on one very exciting occasion with my SO. We went to a movie pub. I was thrilled and apprehensive all at the same time. How many of you have ever been out en femme and been recognized? What were the repercussions?

Hi Rebecca, Congrats on going out en femme.  And it is really great that your SO was with you!

I am usually out and about in androgynous wear daily and let people call me whatever they like, either sir or ma'am.  And I find it funny when I talk to a sales clerk who is obviously struggling, not knowing whether I'm male or female, and they talk to me without calling me sir or ma'am (even though they've been taught to address customers by sir or ma'am).  And I'm not being mean on purpose.

When I'm out and a friend sees me and calls me by my male name, it is the reaction of the people around me that I like seeing.  Those who've assumed I'm female do the double/triple stare with a puzzled look on their face.  I recently had a garage sale when a male customer kept referring to me as "she" when talking to his wife.  Then a friend of mine dropped by and called me by my male name.  I'm sure the male customer heard him as he was standing right beside me.  But he just continued calling me she (even though my male name is in not feminine at all).

I've been out in public in full femme wear and have not yet been recognized by any friends (except for the one time I was dressed en femme for a charity fundraiser and everyone there knew me and loved that I was crossdressed and the times I go out for coffee/tea with my crossdresser friend).  Not sure what I'd do with others.  I most likely would just come clean to them if they were interested in talking about it.  Keep going out Rebecca, good luck.

Hugs, Krista

A few times - but on each occasion it was expected!

I've never been surprised en femme, but there's always a first time.

Having been out a few times, I hope I'm ready for it!

Love Laura

Never been recognized when I was out as Rachel.  Then again, I'm only out as Rachel when I'm out of town.
