Have you ever lost/had mislaid your femme luggage?

It never happened to me Caty, but I always take the important stuff in my carry-on.  That way if everything hits the fan I will still have the basic essentials along to be me.  My bag will usually have one pair of good heels along with a bra, panty, hose, wig and simple makeup.  Then I will have one or two slinky stretch dresses included because they can be rolled up to almost nothing and don't wrinkle.  I learned my lesson when one stowed bag didn't make the plane transfer and I was short for a while.  Now, if I make it to the event my basic essentials are there too.  I also have all of my bags with a distinctive band around the handle and I'm sure to be at the baggage carousel as soon as it starts up.  Happy Landings,   Marg

Not lost my luggage Caty but did something stupid in a busy store. I was looking at shoes and tried a couple of pairs on in the aisle. My handbag was getting in the way so I hung it on a hook, yes you can guess, I carried on shopping leaving the bag on the hook. I was at another section when I went for my purse and a shock went through me when I realised what I had done. I raced back and the bag was still there with a lady looking at it . Whatever her intentions I quickly took the bag off the hook  and felt a great sense of relief. A girls life is in the bag.

Fortunately no, I have never lost any luggage, femme or otherwise. I have had my carry on searched with a bunch of lingerie on top, but that is about it for personal, potentially embarrassing travel stories.

I was sitting in an airport lounge once when somebody left a piece of luggage in the middle of the area. The airport police quickly showed up complete with bomb sniffing dog, and after careful evaluation opened the bag right there and proceeded to examine it's contents. He pulled out several bras and other lingerie and various articles on clothing, but no bomb. I always wondered who the bag belonged to and what they thought of having their lingerie shown to the public. I hope it wasn-t anybody here.

I used to travel extensively in the Middle East, ironically this was in the days of being in the closet so no carrying my lingerie etc, but the number of times my carry on luggage was searched prior to boarding could have been a problem.

I was headed west to California and had a flight cancelled on United.  Rescheduled and finally arrived but the bags were lost.  A day later they were delivered.  On another trip the airline chose my bag to inspect.  I had one of those little locks securing the zipper.  The airline security broke it open and did their inspection.  Alice’s things were all there.  But on another return flight After arriving back home my teddy had gone missing.

Girls, be careful with carry on luggage when traveling abroad, this year on 3 trips everyone boarding flights to US had there carry on searched.

I avoid checked baggage as much as possible.  Prefer traveling light.  But my checked bags have been carefully searched a couple of times with no negative consequences.

Security has also wanted to search my carry-on numerous times.  Usually because of an "unknown gel substance" flagged by the scanner.  I've gotten used to this minor inconvenience and don't bother with private screenings anymore.

One time a male agent emptied the entire contents of my bag for all to see.  Forms, lingerie, clothes....all out there.  That wasn't necessary since my forms were clearly visible at the top of my bag (placed there for exactly this reason).  The agent was professional but I think it was a backhanded attempt to embarrass me.  Fail.  I don't care if anyone sees my stuff.  But it was irritating that he wasted my time and I had to completely repack my bag.

Since that little incident I always ask for a female agent to do screenings and pat downs.  They tend to be more sensitive to trans passengers.  At least in the US, airport security is required to assign a female agent when so requested.

Thanks to all who have responded so far. I hasten to add that my business/Caty travels ceased long ago, (With the exception of going interstate to two CD events in '14 and '17. Plus I'll add a recent interstate trip where I went to an old aircraft museum).

OK the first two were full of Caty stuff, the latter only had nightwear, wigs, forms and lingerie.

But these days its purely leisure, catching up with old friends or going to Queensland in our southern winter to get warm.

So very little Caty stuff goes with me, mostly just lingerie/sleepwear and it always goes in my checked luggage.

Thankfully, we dont have the same carry on strict security checks as in North America, so that's not a problem down here.

I have no problem packing my lingerie or femme items in my carry on. If it gets inspected, so be it. If a security agents wants to make a show of it, they will and the best response we can give them is no response at all. Do not empower them. Just like being out in public, if someone comments, don't give them the satisfaction of lowering yourself to their level, just go on about your business.
