Any one got any tips on posing for photos ,never know what to do with my arms , always feel that I could do better but not sure how , any hints and tips would be most welcoming .Thanks
You might want to edit the title or get a mod to edit it, or I guess repost. I think you might get more responses.
Do a web search for, say, dresses and then click "images". You will get hundreds of photos of women wearing dresses, all in different poses, arms in different positions. Just don't overthink it.
Some things I learned from a session with Diane Crow at Keystone.
Stand at an angle instead of straight on; you'll look smaller.
Separate the feet like you're going to take a step,
Smile with your eyes.
Push the chin out slightly to tighten the neck.
Stomach in, chest out, shoulders back but not up in a shrug.
Bend your hand at the wrist or curl the fingers so your hands don't look as big.
For what do do with your arms, there are several possibilities. You can grab one wrist with your other hand and let it hang in front. You can put one hand on your waist and let the other hang. You can fold them under your breasts. You can put your arms behind you.
I hope these help.
The one tip that I can add to what has already been posted is that if you are a little thick in the neck and chin, put the camera on a tripod and take a photo from above. Taking photos is super fun, so my other advice is to get a tripod for your phone with a Bluetooth shutter clicker that clicks off the photo. You’ll really have some fun with it. Take lots of photos, and delete the ones you don’t like then check the ones you kept in a day or so, they either get worse with age, or you’ll find ones that you really like too. Lastly just have a good time photos are so much fun!
Do all these things but shoot video and frame grab your best moments.
