We've all searched for, or looked at all the beautiful holiday themed clothing available for celebrating in. Even for many of us who won't get the chance to be seen by anyone else wearing them, we still feel the need to get ...something. I know its a difficult dressing time for some with family or friends dropping in or us out visiting them. I indulged myself with a gorgeous velvety burgundy strapless dress which just seemed traditional somehow and a very cute red and white bedtime set. My gf will get to enjoy both of them on me at some point during the holidays I'm sure of it. Does anyone else feel rhe urge to purchase this type of attire?

Happy holidays to all at CDH and may it be a time of joy shared with those close to us.

Hi Olivia,

I sure do.  And the dress you described is exactly the type I keep hoping to purchase.  Everytime we go by one store in my town, I see these very cute sweater dresses too that are holiday themed and I keep thinking I want one of those along with some red and white striped hosiery.

Happy holidays to you as well!

Hugs,

Michelle

I saw an ugly sweater dress the other day and though I laughed, it did look awful, I really thought maybe just maybe.

Hi Olivia,

Before a holiday-themed get-together with some CD friends last week, I found a fun sparkly emerald-colored cocktail dress with a nice, but not too deep v-neckline.  (The clearance rack at a nearby Burlington's has produced many fun surprises.)  As a major plus, the dress also has a bit of stretch so it fits easily over my shoulders while not being too bulky below.  Feels and looks great--a new favorite!

Enjoy your burgundy strapless dress with you gf!  Sounds beautiful.

Happy Holidays!

Rochelle

I have never been one to buy and wear holiday outfits, but I have been watching what the stores are carrying this year. I do wish everyone a happy holiday and hope everyone gets the chance to enjoy their holiday clothing purchases.

Merry X-Mas and Happy New Year,
Breanna

A couple of weeks ago I went with a friend to his office Christmas party so I bought a burgundy knit bodycon sweater dress which I wore smokey grey stockings and black and white heels. I borrowed my wife's pearl necklace and bracelet With a caramel blonde medium length wig. We had a wonderful evening and I received several compliments on my outfit.

I'm going out with some friends up around the Toronto area this weekend and think I'm going to give the dress another whirl, I really liked it, it fit great except this time I'm going to wear my thigh high black suede boots with it. I know what you're thinking, thigh highs, really Heather but there not the kinky looking type, they're very dressy with a 2.5" heel and I've tried them on  and they work great with the dress.

As a bonus my wife is coming with me this year for the first time at Christmas so that makes it even more exciting. She's really opened up this last year and it's made life a lot more enjoyable. I've got us a suite at the Royal York for the night so here we go. Have a great weekend everyone.

This time of the year is my favourite, the weather gets colder and the opportunities for layering and winter purchases are great!

I particularly like winter colours, reds especially. Chunky knitwear is definitely on my list for the January sales.

Any dress with long sleeves will always get my money! I have fallen in love with 50's holiday/Christmas dresses, so White Christmas has taken on a whole new mode of research!

It sounds like you're having fun with it, your wife opening up is a hugegift in itself. I hope your weekend in Toronto was spectacular.

Be merry

Hi Liv,

I think a photo of you in the burgundy strapless dress is just what your cover photo needs right now..... I can't live vicariously without photos 😉

As for urge to purchase.... I have no shortage of those kinds of urges but at this point i'm resisting. With kids home from college I probably won't get any Autumn time. I will have to settle for the drab ugly reindeer sweater this year. I don't mind all that much. I will be with family which is top priority for me. Perhaps next year will be different.

Hugs
Autumn

Hi Olivia,
I hadn't really thought of a special holiday outfit, but the Burgundy velvet dress sounds beautiful and sexy.

I like Bobbis Ideas too, the gold lame and black velvet leggings sound cute.Maybe next year I will have more time to try to dress with more christmas
spirit.

Thanks girls this is a fun topic.

Any excuse to shop for and wear cute outfits is a good excuse, and its nice to fit in with the festivities(with more than a light up tie lol).

I'm gunna mark that down for next year Patty, and see what you got going on.
