I was lying on the couch trying different names. I would say each name out loud, if it didn't feel right I would try another. If it was a maybe I would repeat it several times in different tones. A couple came close but were rejected. Then I said Beth and the girl inside me screamed YES.

I had a conversation with myself and stated that it had to be a full name. She reluctantly agreed, so to honor my grandmother and my English heritage the full name became Mary Elizabeth Green.

It's a pun on my male nickname, a reminder that I'm always a boy.  Al is son.  There are several ways of spelling it.  The common way is Allison which looks more like all is son.  Alisson (which actually spells out Al is son) shows up occasionally but more often as a surname than a first name.  So Alison is closest.

I choose my first name from a character in an English soap opera. The Trisha in Emerdale was the thpe if women I wanted to be and always loved her

My middle name was given to me by my best friend and my sure name is a family name.

My middle and surnames actually mean more to me than my first.

Love Trisha Lilly Hibbert

My wife named me when I came out to her.  She responded so well to it and said I'm going to call you Lola...no, not after Kinks song, but a much older song "Whatever Lola wants" performed by Sarah Vaughan in the late 50's.  I had not even thought about a name, I had only been dressing for a couple months, so I went with it.  My last name is a nod to my other side.  On the weekends, if I'm not Lola or ballroom dancing with my wife, you will likely find me under a car with grease, dirt and gasoline up to my elbows.  My first car was a Chevy Caprice so Lola Caprice.

Natasha is from Star Trek the next generation (bit of a crush). I like the way it can be shortened.

My first name Stephanie is the femme version of my male name.
I chose Roberts as my last name Roberts because it was a common name and it flowed with Stephanie really well.
Love, Stephanie 💖

Mine is from someone who I have admired for a long time. I just want to be as kind and strong as she was.

Eva was the name of the girl who had a locker next to mine in high school. She was a foreign exchange student here from Sweden. She was very pretty, sweet and liked me. We danced at one of the high school dances. I had a crush on another girl at the time so I never asked her out. I regret that. So many years ago and I still remember her. That is why I chose Eva for my name.

Hi Emily!  Myself, there were two reasons for my name.  Firstly it is my name (with an i"), and since I am the same person I was before coming out, I wanted it to be as similar as possible to my given name.  Also, it's the name of the G.O.A.T. female singer! (ever! ❤)

Stevie 😊

Robin was the name of a girl who sat next to me in middle school.   I was envious of how she did her makeup, especially her eyelashes.   I would sit at my desk daydreaming of what it would be like to wear makeup.
