Mine was influenced by the Johnny Cash song "A Boy Named Sue" - decided to go with Suzanne as it sounds sexier than Sue in my opinion, although I'll answer to Sue or Suzie. As I'm writing this I think the Everly Brothers "Wake Up Little Susie" could apply as well as I've woken up the beauty that was sleeping in me.

XOXO

Suzanne

I came up with my name from a lady friend whose name was Shawn. We went to RHPS and I dressed up in some of her clothes, when I was asked who I was, I said I was her twin sister Shawndy.

Regina is a variation of my guy name, but recently figured Gina would be easier to go by. If I ever decide to add a middle name, it will be Michelle in honor of a friend who passed away way too young.

Well, About 10+ years ago, when I was coming under the influence of crossdressing, I jokingly told my wife that I needed a fem name, and I was thinking about going as Stephanie.  She laughed, and said that name would not work since my sister's middle name is Stephanie.

Wifey then blurted out that I should go by Staci, with an "i."  The name stuck.

I am grateful to my dear wifey of 44 years for my "new" name, I actually like it better than Stephanie.

Have fun....   Staci, with an "i"

My ex-wife just one evening said that my name was Clarissa, until then I used my male name. Now my wife thinks Marta are a better name for me, but until further I will be Clarissa at least here in the forum.

Hi Rosiebeth,

Great question... it's been asked many times, but always worth revisiting.

Cindy was the name of my first crush in grade school.  I picked it in homage to a time in my life when I became aware of femininity.  And, as for my last name, I wanted something generic and common.  Jones won on a coin toss vs Smith…lol.  That was a long long time ago.  Since then, some of my online friends started calling me CJ or CJ Jones.  So... a few years ago, I decided to make it official by taking Jocelyn as my middle name.  Now I’m Cynthia Jocelyn Jones.  But really it’s still just Cindy.

It is the name my mother gave me.  She died in 96, but knowing now that I'm an intersex female, and remembering many things from my past while growing up ,alway feeling I was supposed to be a girl, I know she knew I was "different" as she often nurtured my feminine side.

Hugs,

Ms. Lauren M

Since my masculine name starts with the letter "J", I considered feminine names that also began with "J", and "Jessica" was one of the first names that came to mind.

I later realized that there are a couple of women named "Cynthia" whom I admire. If I had taken more time to think through my choices, I might have selected "Cynthia" over "Jessica," or even opted for a completely different name altogether.

That being said, I’m still content with being Jessica, and I primarily identify with my feminine identity as "Jessica."

Plus, having "Jessica" as a first name and "Cynthia" as a last name works quite well.

I came up with mine i changed the last letter of my given man name from a Y to a Z and extended it by putting lyne on the end, i sometimes feel like i should have been a Lyne,

I started with Rebecca but very quickly shortened it to Becca as anyone using the full-length version would sound like a parent: 'Rebecca, have you cleaned your room?'

The reason for, initially, Rebecca? I wrote a book and one of the main protagonists was called Rebecca. Why was she called Rebecca? Seemed like a good idea at the time.

In other words, I have no reason at all as to why I call myself Becca, I just do.

Oh, and it's easy to spell.

Becca

I named myself after my mother, to honour her. I was a second child and she would probably have hoped for having a daughter (so hi Mom!).

Also, to stand out in a crowd, I knew that the French spelling would not be common. Harriette used to be popular before the end of WW2, but that soon crashed, so this is a one person revival of the name. Plus I like it. 😁

Joie is simply a different spelling of my name.  She's always been part of me.
