possible to new members to make friend requests?

To make friend requests… just click or touch the name of the person you want to friend, it will take you to their page on here, you can look at there public profile and a few other things, you will see a pink button , that says Add Friend …Touch it and it will send the request to that person.. hugs… jo

One nice touch if you're making a friend request (which Joanna has explained how to do) is to put a short message on that person's Wall as well, just to say hello them to them and give them a heads up that a friend request is on its way.
You'll find that you get a higher response rate if you do that. People are understandably less inclined to accept a request if it comes from someone they don't get know completely out of the blue.
