Firstly, hello everyone, hope you're all sane.....once again it's Friday!!!!
Ok, I was going to post this last week, but it slipped my mind....
So girls, how is your memory holding up???
Long term.....fantastic.
I can still see all the reports and headlines when John Lennon was shot, in my mind's eye, as if it was yesterday.....all those millennium celebrations like it was yesterday too, where I was, what I was doing.....the big celebration
Short term....absolutely crap.
I get an advert break during a film, get up and go to the kitchen....stop dead ...why am I here????
I can go to the local shop to get four things....first three are easy, but the fourth....not a bloody hope!!
I have lists everywhere to remind me to do things, but it's hopeless because the list that tells me where the to - do lists are.....goes missing.
Passwords....haha, hysterical.....
" For security reasons, never use the same password twice, and never write them down"....HELLO!!!....THIS IS GRACE YOU ARE TALKING TOO!!!!.....me???? remember 30+ different passwords.....I think I may have just wet my panties!!!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not at the stage where I have to write my name and address on labels stitched into my clothes. Although, I have "Vanever" labels in my panties, I don't think i'm Dutch, but I can't remember!!!!!
What did I have for dinner last Wednesday??, did I go shopping last Saturday?? What colour bra do I have on now??!!!....questioned by the Police...."where were you at 8.30 last Tuesday night"....mmmm, ok, I'll come quietly !!!! 😂😂😂
I mentioned this to my doctor but she thinks it's nothing to worry about, it maybe just an age thing, apparently it's common...
I had an appointment for tests, but I can't remember when!!!
So, do you have a photographic memory, a fuzzy one, or a total blank??.Has you lapses ever dropped you in it??...
Have a wonderful weekend, girls, whoever you are!!!!
Grace wash at 40 do not tumble dry ❤️❤️
I'm old, so my memory is leaky like a sieve. I'm lucky if I remember to change my underwear ... oops, I mean panties each day.
Always love your humorous posts, Grace. Even if this one isn't meant to be humorous.
People generally only remember 3 or 4 things at a time. Scientifically proven. That's why US phone number are the way they are... (123) 123-1234. But ever since I got my first cell phone, I've never been able to memorize anyone's number.
Funny I remember the dumbest things from school. I remember New Year's 2000 just fine. And 9/11. I remember my first job interview. But what did I do last night? No clue...
Xoxo, Dani
Grace you sound just like me. You must be my doppelganger. Everything you've said is me. One exception I believe that I am several years older than you.
Kathleen xxxxx💋❤💋❤
I was just thinking about that too Grace. Sometimes, I, uh..shoot..what was that again?...hmmm...oh, I remember...it was...dang it...well,never mind...what were we talking about? Oh yeah, how ‘bout them Packers?
Clara, I think
We all suffer from CRS (Can't Remember ... err ... uhhhh ... Stuff) as a temporary affliction. It is most prevalent in government employees and other PUBLIC servants. The higher the level of office, the more often they suffer from it.
I can remember JFK's funeral. I thought for a long time that memories were always in black and white, but then found out it was the cheap, older, TV set we had. Even the moon landing was in black and white. I just knew that I remembered mom getting us our first color set TV just to watch it, and what did NASA do ? They only broadcast the event in black and white.
My memory only fails me on occasion now, like when I walk out endrab in public, I have to check if I zipped my jean's or washed my hands. The hand washing should be no problem as there are all of those "Employees must wash hands" signs in all of the bathrooms, but they all seem to be on break because I have to wash mine myself.

Hugs Roz xxxxx I'm hoping that's how i spell my name x lol x
My short term memory has never been exemplary, and of course as I age, it certainly isn't getting any better. I've found a few tricks I'm using now for the really 'important' stuff. My wallet had a small ring attached so I put the wallet on a chain that has a hook on the end to go to a belt loop. The wallet stays with me in my pocket the whole day until I undress, and then stays in the bedroom until morning. I also bought something called 'Tile' which is also in my wallet and is linked to my cell phone. If I misplace the phone, I can push the button on the tile and my phone beeps. Usually it's close by...and the battery is charged....and it's 'on'. Woe to me if any of that isn't.
We recently purchased a newer car for my SO which has one of those proximity start buttons. My fob for it is also attached to my wallet/chain so when we're both going somewhere, I can open the door and start the car. It would be so easy to leave the key in the car.
My observation is that even tho we are both retired, with our adult kids some distance away, we seem to have more things to have to remember, thousands of passwords, instructions for all the now intricate items around the house (nothing is simple anymore) that have to be easily pulled up, way too many apps on our phones.
How did we all survive until the electronic age really kicked in?
And yes, I do forget things, so does my SO but she isn't allowing for age in the least. I'm old, she is just busy.
edit - for got to mention that my car is still old enough to require a key. It stays in the garaged car until I drive somewhere, has a loop attached and goes around my neck when I get out. Gotta do what ya gotta do.
Hello Grace and welcome to CDH. Err sorry what was the question again?
Ah yes how is my memory,it's no good I can't remember.
Seriously I have to write a lot of things down otherwise it just gone, names I can never remember, and often find myself talking to someone who obviously knows me but I haven't a clue who they are. Shopping for groceries another. If I don't write a list then as soon as I have entered the supermarket, I can't remember half of what I wanted to buy, even after doing several laps to jog the memory, and I still forgot to write a list the next time.
Some great ideas there Chloe. X
OMG.....isn't that the most embarrassing moment........ somebody says hello....and you cannot put a name to the face....😩
