Hi All,
For some reason I have a new best friend who delights to see me. She gave me a hug the other day, which is very non covid.
Luckily she is only 4 years old, and very small, so the hug was a knee - hug as opposed to a me - hug. But crickey, that was the closest I've had to a hug in 6 months! I so much miss a hug.
So then I read a bit of fluff from a politician saying that in theory by May 17th hugs could be back on the scene, because by then all vulnerable people will have been vaccinated in the UK.
Well that got me thinking. One pleasant outcome of lockdown is that I'm now almost always underdressed when I go out and about. I look in the mirror, and think "does my bra show under this?" - I wear my bras for feel, not effect, so there nothing extra in there, but there's always the straps and silhouettes.
But what next? When hugging comes back, will the new question be "Will my bra be felt under this?"
I'd love to read your thoughts on the pleasures and pitfalls of underdressed hugging.
Hugs to you all !
Hi Marti,
Two things really jumped out of your message for me - hugs - yes please, miss them, need them, want more of them - I do get hugs from my son, but I haven't seen my daughter, parents or siblings in over a year now, nor hugged any friends in that time.
The other thing - 'a politician saying' - stop right there! If their lips are moving, more than likely it's utter rubbish coming out.

LOL, Isobel, yes , that politician was Mike Hancock - or did I mishear his name!

Funnily enough when politicians start talking I've been told that I look like Homer Simpson dreaming of doughnuts....
I have had the same thoughts of people hugging me and feeling my bra. There are women's t-shirts with built in shelf bra. I was going to try one but haven't yet. Does anyone have shirt with a shelf bra?
I have been wearing a bra daily for the past two years plus. A hugs are generally not a thing in my family so I have considered the ramifications. However, shortly after my dad passed, a colleague gave me a hug in condolences. She said that she could tell I needed one. I doubt that she didn't notice my bra straps, but as she said nothing, I said nothing.

Maybe Matt Hancock, the UK Health Secretary?
the man found guilty by the High Court of acting unlawfully over government contracts - now there's someone to trust...!
I'm terrified of this!!!!
I'm wearing bras more regularly now (not today), but I'm afraid my SO may try to hug me sometime and feel the bra underneath! I know anyone would be able too!!! I'm small so it is not very obvious. I do a good job of hiding it, (I think).
No idea what to do with this!
oh Rebekka,
I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention to scare anyone with this thread, I'm just curious to hear what others have to say. Nothing's happened yet, so try to save your worries to another day.
But yes, it's something all of us that haven't come out yet revisit at times I guess.

I can totally relate to this as I as well wear a bra (mostly a bralette) everyday and always get my wife to check if my straps show through certain shirts. I have been hugged while wearing and often wonder if they do feel my straps. Well put it this way not a single sole has ever said a word about it !
Great question and enjoy your day!
Hugs
