I don’t know what the weather will be like tomorrow

If the TV weather forecast is presented by a female meteorologist, my wife always starts to critique the presenter’s clothing choice - what she likes or dislikes about it, does it suit her, does it fit well etc. So here am I trying to listen to the forecast but having to listen to my wife’s analysis at the same time - annoying and, as a result, I usually couldn’t tell you what the forecast was. However, this all began to change a few months ago as my cross dressing activities started to really blossom … because I found I was paying attention to the presenters’ dress choices myself, and I was participating in the conversation as enthusiastically as my wife - maybe even getting my comments in first!

Now of course this isn’t really about the weather, but rather about the way our cross dressing interests pervade, influence and even shape our thoughts, feelings, reactions and ideas. So now:

-  I enjoy the buzz of window shopping with my wife (even if my fashion sense is in its infancy).

-  I need to make sure I don’t get addicted to browsing ladies clothing web sites (though I always prefer to see, feel and try on before buying).

-  I have a greater appreciation of the time it takes to get ready for going out in the morning (my wife: I thought it was the women who took ages to get ready; me: Yes you are right!).

-  And in those dreamy minutes before I fully wake up in the morning, I start to think about which (female) clothes I will wear in the day ahead.

I reckon I could add to this list, and I am sure you ladies could add MANY more ways in which your lives have ben affected.

I still don’t know what the weather will be like tomorrow, though I hope the future will be sunny for you all.

@fembecky A funny side story to this is that many female meteorologists end up in the same dress because they communicate with each other. A few years ago, that fact actually made the news.

IIRC, there even is a web site which they use and a Facebook page.

These days I spend a lot of time checking women out.   I see what shoes she is wearing, her outfit, her hair, her makeup.   Just how she looks, does it look good on her, would it look good on me.  Keep thinking I wish I could wear boots 👢 like that, but my feet would hurt so much.   See someone with a low cut top showing a little cleavage, wishing I could wear something like that.

@loneleycd Yes - same here to some extent.

But sadly so many woman these days just seem to wear trousers / jeans and I really want to see more skirts and dresses. And I find it very hard to decide whether something that looks good on another woman would look good on me.

Sounds like you need to change channels and find a weatherman. You don't want to get caught by a hurricane because you missed the warning while discussing hemlines🤭😁😘

OK - so I'll admit my wife is rather keen on one of the other channels that features a young man she rather likes! But that spoils the fun for me Sad

Nowadays the female presenters are fashion icons and I find that I am looking at what they are wearing more than the weather. Female newsreaders are doing it too and gone are the standard skirt/pants suit and blouse, and I don't mind a bit as it gives me an idea of what's in fashion wise and if a forecast is needed I go online.

@ab123 Hi Angela

Totally agree, and like you I end up on the iPad after the forecast to see what the weather will be like!

Rebecca -

My wife and I do the same thing. We don't watch the weather on TV much anymore, usually the Weather Channel when there is a weather event. We do watch other shows and get into discussions about what the women are wearing. There have been a few times my wife has commented that something someone was wearing would look cute on me. We also watch Project Runway and have fun talking about the clothes they make. We go shopping together and my wife likes my taste in clothes, she calls me her fashionista.  We get catalogs in the mail from a number of ladies clothing companies and look thru those pointing out what we think would be nice for each of us. One day my wife mentioned that she likes having someone to do girly things with. I don't dress outside the house per an agreement with her to keep it in the house, but it is still fun to spend time with her dressed.

XOXO

@cdsue Hi Suzanne

Lovely to hear of the level of fashion engagement you have with your wife. I don't get quite the same, but before going out she will help me choose what to wear from my (very limited) wardrobe.

I am constantly aware of women in the media and how they present themselves.  There's one that I want to take a photo of and use her makeup as the basis of a makeover for myself.   Her makeup is so pretty to me!  Talk shows are another source of style inspiration for me.   Even when I'm out and about, I'm constantly checking women out to see what they are wearing and also the clothes on display in stores.   I've mentally spent millions in the past few years on my wardrobe!!

@lauren114 Hi Lauren

I hadn't thought much about taking notice of the makeup, but maybe I should. I must admit I am not into makeup much (yet), just a bit of concealer to smooth things out a bit and a subtle lipstick. Maybe that side of me will grow with time.

@fembecky Makeup for me is so fun!  It's another way for me to express my creativity.  It is also a way to spend a lot of money so I need to keep myself in check sometimes.  I love MAC and I'm disappointed that they are closing a lot of their stores.  i always wanted to go there for a makeover and I hope I get the chance.

@lauren114

About 15 to 20 years ago I went to a MAC store in a back street in London. It was after a business meeting and I was still in my suit. I asked for a full makeover (my first ever) which they did in a secluded room. Had to screw up my courage but I enjoyed it; shame I then had to erase all their good work before venturing back into the world.

A couple of years later I was in a shopping mall in London. I had arrived early, changed into female clothes, and went to the mall's MAC store for a makeover - this time out front among all the other ladies having a makeover. Step by step the artist did one side of my face and got me to do the other side - a sort of tutorial. Enjoyed it immensely, and was happy to keep the results on for the rest of the day. However I was too immersed in the experience to remember much of the instruction!

Next time in that mall I found the MAC store had closed, but found I could repeat the experience in the mall's Bobbi Brown store which I did on a couple of occasions. That was about 10 years ago when I was still travelling on business trips before I retired; I have not had the opportunity for a makeover since then, but I have stuck with BB for the few products I use.

I would love to explore makeup more and become proficient in achieving a natural looking result that smoothed out and hid the masculinity of my face, but present circumstances preclude that.

I do hope you get the opportunity to fulfil your dream of a makeover.

Happy Woman Face

Hugs

@fembecky Thanks for sharing your experiences Rebecca!   I really do need to get a makeover especially one that includes a tutorial.  I found a MAC store that is still open and is only one hour away.  I have to get there soon before it's gone.

From getting up, to being ready to go out can take over an hour in Cerys mode. Shower, shave, make up get dressed, hair and choosing the right jewellery. Easily an hour!

Male mode 10 minutes.

My email is full of emails from clothes outlets, Shein, Temu, Cider Wish etc etc etc.

Facebook is full of ad for the above.

I always used to mock my wife for the number of pairs of shoes she had.... Not any more I don't!

I always used to mock my wife for the number of handbags (purses) she had.... Not any more I don't.

Coats... Male me has two. Cerys has at least 6

I'm a radio ham... It's an expensive hobby..... Not as expensive as Cerys is!!!!!!

@dazzler OK, I've obviously got a bit of catching up to do.

In just a few months I've already got as many ladies shoes as mens, and in 2023 I've spent more on female attire than I have ever spent in a year on mens.

Yes - it is an expensive hobby, but immensely satisfying.
