I've been crossdressing for a while but have only recently got started with wearing wigs. My god, the longer wigs can get really messy, really fast. Split ends and loose strands, gently combing to make sure none of the hair gets pulled out, hair getting pulled out anyways, wear the wig once and its back to square one all over again. I recently bought a hatsune miku wig with twin tails that go down to the thighs and its an absolute nighmare to comb, especially when its has to be scrunched up to be stored away as i'm still hiding stuff from my parents. I don't know how people take care of their long hair but, respect.

Hello There, FWIW, mre too! Since the pandemic, I have not gone out to get a gmhaircut at all. Truth be told, I probably needed one just as pandemic started, therefore, I have very long hair noww. I started niticing knots and things of that nature.

I think that it is very safe to say that it 8s at shoulder length at this point. While I could go ahead and get it cut short, there is a real part of me that would like to get it styled instead.

I am not sure exactly what I will go with, but we'll see.

Well Victoria. I don't have enough hair for that to ever be a issue.  But if I was in your shoes I could not possibly pass on a trip to the salon.  That would be a dream for me. You can always get it cut later.

I know long hair can be a issue. I also know that its not fair to be able to buy new stuff if you screw it up to bad. Doesn't compare to having to wake up with it every mourning. Although I would welcome that option. But isn't the feel of longer styles on your back and shoulders the most wonderful thing ever?

Thank you, Michelle,

I must admit, it is very tempting! However, what exact type of haircut would I get? I am thinking something like a lob or something to that effect? I wonder what it would be like to have curly hair too? Would it be androgynous enough? I am not quite ready to out myself yet, however each coming day, it seems to be getting closer and closer...

I would get the prettiest most feminine style that I could desire. Even if I could only experience it for a few days. Let your girl out for a few days. The only issue is.  I would very much want to keep it. Like when your dressed and have such a hard time undressing. Have fun whatever you decide.

In my younger years, I grew out my hair really long, it almost reached my butt.  It looked cool, but in reality it was tough to keep clean.  At that time, I worked in a kitchen during the summer months, so washing it daily was a must as I smelled like kitchen grease from head to toe.

It took forever to dry naturally (I don't like using hair dryers).  In the summer it wasn't too bad but in the winter it would take a very long time to dry.  As well, I started developing split ends.  Due to the fact that I worked in the kitchen during the summer, when it was hot out, the long hair did not help in cooling things down, it made things feel way hotter.

I eventually found a summer job that was more in line with my career, so I had to cut the long hair off.  I didn't cut it all off in one shot, it was gradual.  At one point I had a womens type bob and looked more on the feminine side.

Thanks to the long hair I had and traction alopecia, I am now almost bald.

Wigs I now buy are shoulder length.  I won't buy any wigs past shoulder length as it is a nightmare to wash, comb, and it easily tangles.

I also had long hair in my youth. When I went to have it cut off three women in the salon begged me not to do it. Did it anyway for a job opportunity too good to pass up. For the past five plus years I have let it grow back. To my amazement it is the same head of hair I had forty years ago, long and straight with no grey hairs. Yes, it is a lot more work to care for but I love it. When dressed in drab and someone asks why I keep my hair long my answer is because I can.

Had shoulder lenght hair for 12 years before cutting it and yes it was a hassle to keep clean and hot in the summer but loved playing with it in different styles. I wore bows headbands and hair clips at times and had it professionally styled in updos and curls on occasion for special events. Now I have a shorter unisex haircut which I feel comfortable in but still don wigs as well at times

Hi Alexa  You can do so much more with long hair. When its time to go into drab mod just brush hair strait back into a low pony tail. You are right it can be a pain. Unfortunately for me and others like me my testosterone is getting the best of me. HRT maybe on horizon for me. I prefer not to wear a wig.

Luv Stephanie

I would think it would be easy to find. They're not so interested in your life style choices as they are in a return customer.
