I love Shirl. Her "I am what I am" sent a shiver down my spine and footage of her triumphal appearance at Glastonbury brought tears to my eyes.

I missed it last night but I enjoy her every which way - to your list of 'what a', I'd add "What a diva!".
Growing up, way back, it just didn't dawn on me that my dad could have the 'hots' for someone - he was married to my mum for heavens sake. But whenever Shirley was on our telly, he'd be leaning forward in his armchair, hands almost rubbing together, a hint of a smile on his face. Lol, he had the hots alright.
