I always loved to do my nails, I tried various ways, the glue ons are fun, but I have found they are so long I don't need that. Taking them off can tear up your nail underneath. I have let my natural nails grow a bit, about an 1/8 inch over my finger. I keep them manicure and love to put a coat of polish on them at night.
Today I awoke and they were light pink, which matches my lingerie. I do like the reds, I see a lot of girls now using different colors for each nail, blues with pinks, it seems to be a bit of a trend. I learned to put a clear coat on first and last. The clear coat acts as a base and then as a sealer.
Does anyone have any tips out there on how you like to do your nails? I would love to get a set of acrylics, but as I have to switch to drab so often, once a day at least, I have never done it. I would love to hear how others do it, how do you pick your color, do you use artificial nails?
Hi Jennifer unfortunately I wear the press on nails but I like they way nails look it really makes me feel good to see pretty fingernails and I'm always looking at women to see how they have their nails painted I like French style so pretty
Hi ya Rachael, nothing unfortunate about wearing nails. I have tried press on nails before, but as I recall they came off easy and I was leaving a trail of them behind me. Maybe I just didn't do it right. They were pretty and easy to do. I also heard of a new type of polish that is more of a film and peels off. Haven't tried it yet but look forward to doing so. Thanks for the tip love.
Hello Jennifer,
I love letting my nails grow. I keep them the same as you about 1/8 inch and I’ll push it a little more if my SO doesn’t say anything. Filing, buffing, trimming, moisturizing and now and again a clear coat or peach color. This might sound odd but when I am driving I love to hold my fingers up so I can see the sun shining through them. It helps me through “drab” days.
🥰Courtney
Thanks Courtney, I love the way my nails shine too. I may be a little vain but I will hold them up to a light to see them. On a side note, as Christmas is coming , there are usually displays at Target or Walmart, I think they are usually directed at young girls, but I have bought some really nice nail polish for very little which can be really neat. Once I got one that was a two coat process, it was Candy Apple Red. It was really cool. I keep looking for it again, but haven't seen it.
Hi Jennifer, I have not tried wearing or painting my nails. So thank you for starting this thread and thank you ladies for sharing your experiences! Hope to add my own soon! hugs, Michelle
I have just recently giving my nails a nice feminine look myself. I like the way they look and feel cause it's the real girl in me coming out. I have to fight working on them from becoming an obsession. So I like to first get pretty, all dressed up with no where to go and then shape them. Keeping them comparable in shape and size is a labor of love. I find myself paring down a few on my left hand to balance it with my right. Oh and my toenails are always a nice gold sparkly color.
I tried the fake nails and they were oh so pretty but a real pain at the same time trying to remove them. By using and doing my own nails I find I am getting better with picking things up as the gradually get longer.
I hope this helps and don't forget...stay pretty!
I forgot which solvent will help remove false nails. I will try to think of it and post it here.
I agree Dana, much easier to just polish your real nails. Sometimes you can try to pop of the glue on, but then you have the problem the residue of the glue then has to be taken off. One way to get them off is to soak your finger nails in a bowl of nail polish remover, it takes a while but the nails and glue kind of melt off. To much of a hassle for me.
Hi Rachael, I think if you like it, it is good. I have just found press on nails can fall off at the darnest times. But I would rather look down at my beautiful nails than not. Have fun.
Hi to all. I get my nails painted all the time. I love custom art done on them. Nobody bothers me in male mode.I have been at the doctors or hospital painted. I have had great comments about my colors or art work, When someone asks in the way that is questioning why I paint them I say this. First color has no gender. Second Tattoos are permanent. Nail polish and custom art work comes off with acetone or carb cleaner so I can change colors anytime. If you had tattoos of painted nails right above your nails in any color that would be alright? Last BBC nail polish introduced Nails For Males and they hit the fortune 500 after releasing them. That usually gets people to understand or walk away quietly. If you watch the God father you will see Marlon Brando with clear coated manicured nails. So to all Paint them and don't be afraid to show them.
I keep my toenails painted continuously in the winter months and also paint my fingernails when I dress up. I’ve been to a professional salon three times and it’s amazing. Last October I got my first French mani/pedi with my SO
I always have my toes painted a color, turquoise now. I always do clear on fingers but today it a light pink. Never tried stick on or acrylics.
I am painting my nails hot pink tonight.. I love too be a show off. I love the clear on my finger nails, nobody notices. Love you darling.
