I was defended very well today and was glad it happened.I walked into a women's clothing store looking around minding my business when it happened.I was looking at a dress I loved and 2 rude female customers encountered me calling me nasty words.Luckily a couple nice and respectful female customers were there and said I am like any woman to these rude women. Then a couple sales ladies stepped in and did the same thing to them. One of the sales ladies went to the manager whom told these two rude customers to leave.I was glad it was taken care of  and thanked them.I did come home with that dress buying it.The manager, she told me that is not allowed there and the owner will be banning them. The owner said she has respect for transwomen and MTF crossdressers to me.Saw I was shaken up a little bit and got over it.Even said these two sales ladies will be promoted as well, they were trained well knowing what to do in this situation.

I have yet to come across a situation like that. Buddy I hope I never do. I’m happy you had backup from the sales staff.

Its Terrible that you had to go thru that, but its awesome that someone was able and willing to come to your aid. Kudos to them. And good for you for keeping your composure and buying you that dress.

Hi.

These things can happen, with still so many bigots out there but there are a lot of good people about too!!!.

Love the store and it's staffs attitude, and it sounds like a great place to shop.....more outlets like this are needed...please!!!!

Hope you enjoy your dress.

Best wishes, grace x

Hi Kimber.  I was sad when I  started reading your story but smiling by the end of it!  Sadly there will always be ignorant people, but the way all the "good" people of the planet rallied to your support is heartwarming.  The way it should be 🙂.  Try to remember all the love you received from many, and not just the comments of two idiots.  I'm proud of you girl!

.... and make sure you enjoy that dress, it has some special history to it now!!

Stevie ❤

Kimberly, I have found that as soon as I admit that I am shopping for myself, I cease being a pervert and become a customer. I have always been treated with kindness and respect from sales clerks and received good advice on my choices.

I have got some funny looks from other shoppers, but more often I get positive comments.

It is unfortunate that incidents like that still happen.  In the 40+ years that I have been out, I feel lucky to have only experienced a confrontation like this in a store I was shopping in a couple of times.

Both times, the soreheads were stopped by store staff and told to leave.  The first was back in the 80's, which is a little surprising for the time.  I cannot remember the name of the store, but it was a specialty 'stout' shop, if anyone remembers them called that.

From reading, experiencing and hearing about this kind of behavior, it has always been overwhelmingly women who stand up for their customers, with very few men that I have heard about.

It IS getting better, too.

Hi Kimber  that's really good to hear you were defended by the shop manager and staff, thats really positive it show some attitudes  are changing towards girls like us. There will always be some narrow minded people out there, hopefully one day they will be a minority. Thank you  for sharing your experience with us.

Best Wishes

Sarah xx

Hi Kimber,

What a terrible experience you had to endure.  Wonderful to hear that both customers and sales staff handled the situation professionally and safely.  And their training had prepared them for such an event.  Great too you are safe and unharmed!

It was the worst of times, it was the best of times (with apologies to Dickens). Overall that was a positive experience, it sounds like. A couple of mean girls got their comeuppance, you got affirmation and a dress!
