I would like to help in setting up a TG Finishing school in the UK

I would think that the first step would be to familiarize yourself with earlier efforts of that nature, Perhaps most notably is Miss Vera's Finishing School, around since 1993.

I feel, however, that one should begin with a more inclusive social structure that eventually incorporates an 'academic' segment. Essentially beginning with a social structure that permits recruitment and a growing involvement. Numbers are a key as finances are a key and a greater number diminishes the cost per person.

One educative process I had considered for such a society is a debutante system. The idea is that, each year, the society holds a Debutante's Ball in which new members are 'introduced' to the specific, social milieu. The process would include classes in deportment, etiquette, carriage, dancing (make a deal with a dance school), cosmetics (Avon calling), etc. That is, it would be a preparative process as well as an opportunity for increased interaction. I suppose one could use the concept of a Senior's Prom as well.

It could initially be a modest affair growing in scope with the abilities of the society.

My friend ran a transformation business from her home, although the business name included the words "finishing school." It was not a school in that there were regular classes, but for an hourly fee would teach you makeup, walking (with or without heels), composure, or other such things.  There were a few "group" lessons, but mostly it was one-on-one.

However, most people went for a makeover, either before a party she held or for a photo shoot.

I can tell you that it was a part time business, and probably not something that would work full time.
