Thanks for sharing this. It is a lovely concept and one we can only dream of unfortunately. What a wonderful world it would be!
What's the old saying, ignorance breeds contempt. People don't understand so it's a fear reaction. I don't understand it so it's wrong. Then throw in two teaspoons of narcissism and I'll point out your faults to take the attention off of mine. Look at the freak in the dress takes away from look at the guy wearing velcro running shoes and can't count to ten if he uses his fingers. Ah yes human behaviour, we've come a long way but sometimes we're still in our caves. Don't forget that Bill Shakespeare guy either, he was a pretty smart dude. One of my favourite lines, me thinks thoust does protest too much. Could it be that he's overly insulting you because he's actually thinking wow I bet that dress would look good on me but he doesn't want anyone to know he likes the soft pretty things in life. You know you walk into a bar and Mr. Crow Manian is there with his buddies. He can't come over to you and ask where did you get that dress and those shoes are to die for so now our old friend jealousy kicks in with a good dose of male bravado and he's got to make sure everyone in the place knows your a guy in a dress and he's alpha male. The human mind, my line is we've learned so much about the workings of the human body but still really know very little about what makes us tick. So back to the original point, yes Heather's gone off on one of her tangents again, when we can remove a few thousand years of genetics and social interference then as Mr Lennon said the world will be as one. Thanks for the closing line Bianca, I love that song. If it's on the radio in the car and I get where I'm going before it's done, I'll sit and listen until it's finished.
Lorie it would be a wonderful world if it could happen, with lots of happy positive people.
Sarah xx
It would be nice especially if the world was like Star Trek. Accepting of All Creatures Great and Small. ( which is a funny British vet show).
We can dream, Stephanie!
Heather- YES.
You've gone into a separate imaginary conversation that I experienced in my head often enough decades ago, lol. That was me! I used to be triggered when I saw someone dressed, and I would feel both a pull and a push about it. Of course, to protect myself I'd verbally push away. Though, I didn't point it out to others or say anything to the dresser. It was an internal battle.
But that's over. Like the heroine walking away from the burning, tangled, smoking pile of wreckage in the middle of the street. (I'm loving that imagery, lol!)
I've thought a lot about Star Trek in terms of crossdressing (who wouldn't if they caught the guys in the women's tunics in early TNG episodes?) and thought about how their medical technology could make anything possible and reversible. Some people see gender as a choice, but in that case you could really try out your options and no matter where you see yourself in the real world, you would be crazy to not want to try it out if it were that easy!
Hi Lorie, I'm glad you enjoyed my reply, I'm kind if into psychology, it fascinates me. You must get into this as a life coach. It's great this brought this into the light for you. The first session is on the house after this I'll have to start billing you. lol Just kidding, I love posts like this, they make you think.
