Hi all,

Ok, the poll feature's not working, but this is a straight forward question.

----

More than 40% of adults in England have gained weight during the pandemic, a survey suggests, with the average gain being half a stone (just over 3kg).

Public Health England (PHE), which surveyed 5,000 people, says Covid lockdowns and disrupted daily routines have made it challenging for people to eat healthy and keep fit.

---

Well, have you put on weight? If not how come? Are you going to do anything about it?

I do weigh myself regularly. I did put on almost 7 pounds too at one point in lockdown. Now I'm maybe a couple of pounds over my usual weight. A bit more walking, and a bit less eating. It'd be really nice to go the other way and lose 7 more  pounds.

Marci,

You bet I did - I was +18 pounds at my peak of excess and I blame it all on the development of my sourdough and baking pursuits during the boredom!

Good news is that I’ve lost it all and just a few more as of last month, the result of disciplined intake, and being able to ride my bike with regularity - a bit over 100 miles a week on average when work and weather permit.  And I confess that our ‘condition’ is a prime motivator - wanting to fit into all the cute things we want to wear!

We have just gone back into lockdown after so many months with no Covid cases here in NZ. I have kept up my 3 x per week fitness routine but now there is no Saturday sports until we come out I have lost that part of keeping fit and active. I am finding that being stuck at home I am snacking more and have put on just over 1kg over the last 3 weeks.

Hoping to get back to routine in the next week so if/when restrictions are eased.

Hi Marti

I managed to buck the trend through 2020 and lost around 45lbs, this was by doing 30 mins on my exercise bike every work day, no snacking in the evenings and 2 days of <500 calls intake, unfortunately I then put back on 15lbs after Christmas but am now back on the routine and have lost most of the gained weight.

I seriously believe that if I wasn’t a Crossdresser my weight and general health would be SO much worse.

love and good health. Stephanie xx

Good one, it's puts my desire for a 7 lb loss into perspective. Maybe it's more achievable than I thought.

I have been swimming for the last 7 years...every day...one hour.
This to burn fat, lower blood sugar and A1C, tone muscle.
I can't do any other aerobics do to orthopedic disabilities. Did that for decades: Army physical training and testing (25 years), basketball, tennis, golf, baseball. All that takes it's toll on the body.
Weight; yes, I am 245lbs, and have been during Pandemic. At 75 next month, this 'ol body ain't going to change much, if at all. I love to eat what I want. My wife is a Chef, so I eat pretty well.
That's why I love my foundation garments. They let me be me.
Good luck everyone...just make SURE YOU GET VACCINATED...otherwise your weight Won't Matter!!!!

Hi Marti

I don't ever get on the scales it is what it is, however I do measure my waistline frequently for purchasing new outfits. Since covid came about the waistline shrank about one and a half inches, I think it's because I have worked all through covid, and not being able to go to the pub.

I am keeping the lifestyle the same, I am hoping to fit in a ridiculously undersized skirt which is 28 inch. I have currently 31 inch I have not had a takeaway in 18 months which helps a lot.

Love Sarah

I gained then lost. At the beginning of the pandemic and working from home I put on 10lbs with snacking, bigger meals, processed comfort foods, baked goods, carbs, carbs carbs etc. When the scientists started to learn more about Covid and that heart, lung and general overall good health was a general deterrent from more severe symptoms and hospitalization if you contracted it I changed my routine. My wife and young family were the main reason I changed. I needed them and they needed me. So, control what I can.

I started to walk 5 1/2 miles each weekday morning before work and 8-12 miles each weekend morning. I ate healthier and had one cheat night per week. With all this I lost 35 lbs, felt and slept so much better. The big unrealized bonus was that all my femme clothes fit better and felt fabulous. For this my mental state improved. Plus I branched out and started to wear leggings and other compression garments in cooler months which felt awesome. Win win. I hope to lose 5-10 lbs more and maintain from there.

Marti...
Thanks for the emphasis on getting the all important Vaccination for Covid.
We couldn't go to school without our updated Vaccination card.
I spent 25 years in the Army as a Surgeon, and lined up routinely for shots to keep us prepared to go anywhere in the world!
