It was a lovely evening on Friday - just right for a short walk out and experience what it's like being out dressed. Jeans and a sweatshirt on, white trainers and my new hand bag ready. I'd been building myself up for this all day so I checked my makeup and headed for the front door. I looked outside the front window first - no one about on the street. I unlocked the door, grabbed the handle - no, look out the window again. Grabbed the handle again for what seemed like 10 minutes - I opened the door a fraction. I was nervous now but I opened the door and stepped out. Locked the door and walked to the street - no one about still and I was out. I composed myself and walked up to the next street and round the corner. Carried on up to the main road - past a guy on the pavement - kept my head up and smiled. Walking along the main road I was starting to relax now - I didn't need to remind myself to smile - I was smiling big time. Walked passed a few more people - they didn't give me a second look. Got to the road I was going to take back home - and carried on past it. I was really enjoying this now - swishing my hair every now and then and really starting to feel feminine. I got to the next junction and then headed for home - still smiling I arrived at my front door. I unlocked it and went in - wow, I had just done what I never thought I'd do and nobody said a word to me.
Thank you to one and all who have encouraged me and inspired me to do this.
Congrats on your first outing 🙂
My first time out was supposed to be a quick 5 minus round the block; I was out for half an hour - after a couple minutes I was enjoying it so much I carried on .... 🙂

You are right Millie - that initial opening the front door was scary but so very rewarding when you are out. I'm looking forward to doing it again soon.
Best wishes
Rachael.
Thank you so much Grace
It was just the same when I answered the door dressed for the first time. Afterwards you're just ' why was I so worried about doing that ? ' Who knew that being yourself can be so exciting.
Best wishes
Rachael.
