Oh ladies, how incredibly fast things are moving now!
My husband came home early tonight, so we had diner together. During dinner we were watching the Amsterdam Canal Pride on TV. A lot of beatiful drag queens were on it, so I decided to try out how my SO would react. I said I would like to be in drag one time. He immediately told me to contact our friend who performs as a drag queen professionally.
So after dinner, sitting on the porch by a little fire - and very much encouraged by the coming out stories I've read already on this forum - I decided to 'spill the beans'... told him that "maybe I wanted it so much, that I had just started to 'practice' a bit"... (heartbeat 180 and climbing!)
To cut a long story short: he just helped me find size 12.5 pumps online and paid them for me!!! Oh my!
I am so incredibly relieved and happy!!!
So happy for you Frederique! Congratulations! That's a huge weight off your shoulders. TBH, from what little I know of your situation, I would've been very surprised if your hubby reacted badly. Now that that's out of the way, let the fun begin!

Well done, you!
I hope it all goes well for the future.
Hi Frédérique,
Congratulations on your success!
Alice
We had a long talk tonight, and we're now going to bed (2 am here). My husband would like to come with me and help to find a proper dress, in a special store in Amsterdam. And asked if I had already looked up wigs... how's that for being a supportive SO! I'm so happy I waited no longer!
Well, I'm off to bed now, feeling very very happy... tomorrow morning it's make-up time, first time ever! 🙂
This morning and afternoon I've been doing all those things I always wanted to, but now with 'approval' of my SO and no longer in a hurry.
So first I spent a lot of time in the bathroom, shaving and showering. Next body care and nail care. And then - finally - doing my first make-up. I followed the Nikkietutorials special for transwomen & crossdressers and that was very useful! I now understand how to make my (round) face look smaller and softer. But darn, doing it properly is difficult! Luckily I had already purchased the right products, half on instinct, half by sheer luck I had bought foundation, base powder, concealer and my all-in-one make-up kit supplied the rest. Just a bit short on brushes 😉 And I need another mascara and lipstick.
I'm not ready to share the picture yet, but I made a photo and I did show the result 'live' to my husband. First my make-up and then - with all the grace I could muster - I dropped my kimono and showed my dress and other clothes to him. That felt so immensly exposed and fragile... and liberating!
He even complemented me with my dress and the complete picture, although he just admitted it was 'strange' for him to see me in a dress. And I can really immagine that, because it is still strange for me too, when I look in the mirror.
Now I'm back in drab and about to go out for dinner.
So happy for you sis and especially that your husband is supportive. I understand that and been through it too. Now open us and enjoy being the queen you were meant to be.
Great story.
Wow!
Just, WOW!
Unfortunately, dear, you cannot see all of us doing our “happy dance” for you!!!
Oh, Frederique ... you are going to have so much fun together! Enjoy every minute of it.

Hi Frédérique,
So happy for you and your SO!
Enjoy the experience and and time goes on be sure to remain open with each other. I suspect that won’t be an issue, but keeping and open door of communication will only enhance the experience. I promise.
-Natalie.

I'm one of those doing a happy dance for you. It makes my soul feel great when I hear of such acceptance. Acceptance by our wife/SO is all most of us want so we have to live vicariously thru those that have it.
