I don’t often worry get too concerned about passing, but I also don’t get much feedback about my success, as it isn’t something I look for. But, sometimes when you least expect it, something delightful happens. This afternoon, the drive-thru at my favorite Starbucks was longer than I expected, so I took that time to check messages, my hair and freshen my lipstick. After waiting patiently, I got to the window, paid, and as the young woman attending the widow handed me my drink, she said, “I love your lip color.” I was a bit surprised, but managed to say “Thanks.” I can’t begin to say how validating that was, and I wanted to get out and give her a hug, but there were other customers waiting. That Starbucks is definitely my favorite now!

Yes it really did. I typically wear the same lipstick color during the day, but I had changed purses and my usual color was not there. Although the color I was wearing today, has not been a favorite, I may just have to give it a chance.

Sometimes it is those little compliments that can make your day. Last week as I was leaving my local Wal-Mart in fem the greeter said 'nice hair'. After being stunned for a second or two I smiled and said ' thanks'.

As it has been said, it is nice when things happen that way. I get stares and quiet laughs when people see me but I get compliments on lip color nails and makeup. I feel good when that happens.
