I might be going to Vegas for a few nights in December and I'm puzzled at so what bathroom to legally use and do most casinos have family restrooms to use. I have never been out before so this is all new to me.
hello and welcome and hope your trip dressed up will be heaven. if you are dressed as a female i would use the female bathroom and try not to talk, that would be a giveaway. Go in and do what you have to do and get out.
If you are dressed as a woman, you must go to the women's bathroom. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world is open-minded enough to have an open bathroom for all genders.
Among other things, in a women's bathroom, you will have the freedom of movement to touch up your makeup in front the mirror!
C'est la vie 😉

Having just used the ladies room for the first time the other day, I agree. If dressed as a lady use the ladies room, or a family room.
The first time I walked by there was a line, so I passed it by. Standing in line would have been a bite too nervewracking. The next time there was no line so I just went in, use a stall, then freshed my lipstick in the mirror and all was well.

Just as we normally would in the gent's room.
"do most casinos have family restrooms to use?" Nicki
I don't remember seeing any gender-neutral washrooms when I went to Vegas. Some of their buildings are old and the local bylaws may not require them, so there may not be all that many city-wide. I didn't crossdress at that time, so I didn't look for them.
Hope your trip goes well and, um, good luck! Let us know how your experience works out.
I would strongly suggest you investigate the Nevada state laws on gender/bathroom usage as that will be the bottom line.
But have fun and don't worry about it too much - it's Vegas!
Don't overly worry about it. If there's a gender-neutral bathroom use that, if not, just use the ladies room. Walk in looking confident, do your business and leave. Don't linger and don't talk to anyone. You can always comb your hair or touch up your makeup in a casino or hotel mirror.
Nevada requires single-stall public restrooms to be gender inclusive, with appropriate signage. I don't know if there is a law that governs use of multi-stall public restrooms (ladies/men's rooms). But I do know that Las Vegas is a very popular destination for girls like us. It's very welcoming to our community. I can't imagine you'll have any trouble using the ladies room. I'd never use the men's room. Way too risky. If you're worried about where to go, find a gender inclusive restroom.

Nicki:
Thre is an annual gathering in Las Vegas called Diva Las Vegas. They have been around for many years and it is for crossdressers and transgender folks. Link to their Guide page which has a lot of information about the city:
In Vegas I use the ladies’, do my business, and move along.
Most of all, don't worry about such things. just have fun and let things happen and you will quickly find all the right options and answers.
Hi Nicki, Our hotel / time share is not far from the MGM casino and " Mall ". In the casinos there are so many Girls rooms, pick one with no line. I will say that I usually will find a girls room at a store anywhere in the shopping areas, no line and no care because they want your girl buying power. Just a tip and have an excellent time. Kathi
