Are there any UK girls here with recent experience of the LGBTQ+ scene in Leeds (The Calls / Briggate)?
I'm hoping to have a night out there later this month. I've read a bit online about the various venues, but I still have many questions...
Hi Jacqueline,
Leeds First Friday, the first Friday of the month every month there is a big get together for crossdresser and Trans people,
I've wanted to attend myself, you may have to Google it and find out which part of Leeds it is X
Hugs Rozalyn X
I've attended may LFF's over the years!
It's a very safe place to make an outing.
LFF has a Facebook page, lists the timings and venues, as well as providing information on hotels and parking.
I contacted the organisers of Leeds First Friday for general advice about LGBQT+ venues in the city, and they have been ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL about providing information. I just wanted to post it here in case it benefits anyone else.
If you're reading this Alice and Grai ... thank you so much for all of your help. You are amazing!
'The scene venues are really Viaduct Showbar, Bar Fibre and Blayd's Bar. They are all LGBQT friendly places. The Bridge Bar is brilliant too ... and then there's Bridge End Social which has a quieter social vibe than the clubs. Most of these are open until 4am at weekends and as far as I know there’s no entry charge except on special nights such as New Year's Eve or Pride. Most have websites, so you can always check in advance.
'The Shed Bar is close (and usually has more of a Rock vibe) and then for live music there's Northern Guitars Café Bar on Call Lane ... they have live music every night. I’m not aware of any dress codes 🙂
'Pubs wise we go to The Bankers Cat, Tapped and North Brewing Company. All are good and friendly, but shut at about 11. The Brewery Tap, the Head of Steam on Park Row (not the one by the station, avoid that!) and Friends of Ham are all fine.'
