I just finished a 58 hour work week. The money is good, but I'd like to be home once in a while. How was your week?

@kapt Rikki, I just finished a zero hours week. Retirement is wonderful. But don't wish your life away xx.

@chrisfp99 I certainly agree with the sentiment of not wishing ones life away, but I too am so looking forward to retirement.  I still love the essence of my job, but am tired of the politics and all the time that is wasted on petty politics.  And I am really tired of the long commute that I have.

Plus of course, I want to be dressed all the time and can only do that (currently) when I am at home!

Hugs Christine

@christineth Christine, we have a lot in common. I grew tired of the politics and pressure of work. I've had some horrible commutes in my career. Although for the last 12 years I had a two mile drive. Unfortunately unlike you, as my wife is also retired and knows nothing of Chrissie, I have no opportunities to dress 😢 xx.

@chrisfp99

Chrissie, for most of my career I only had a 4 km commute and the worse that could happen was to get stuck behind a tractor! Now for the last stretch I have a 95 km commute!

I am sorry about your lack of opportunity to dress, you have such beautiful photos, it’s a shame to hide Chrissie away.  Only you can judge how the conversation with your wife could go and how she would take it.  It’s really difficult, I know. Hopefully things will work out and you will get the opportunities to be Chrissie.

In the meantime, we all love to hear from you and see your photos.

Hugs

@christineth Christine, thank you for your sweet and considerate comments. "The conversation" goes around my head regularly, but it only ends one way xx.

I envy the retired gals on this thread.  Go ahead and gloat.  You're entitled.

I'm still working my demanding job.  The money is great.  My time is priceless.  It's almost time to step aside.

A dear friend told me my 'job' should be errands to the grocery.....  I couldn't agree more!

I've been retired for 12 years now. I've got an endless supply of projects.  As on retiree once said. " I wonder how I got things done while I was working!"

The one saving grace is. I don't have to put up with the nonsense and B.S. of the working world!  Working would be a breeze without it!

@kapt I had many years working 2 jobs and a 55 to 65 hour work week, with a few over 80 hours. These days I am down to a 42 to 50 hour work week. Which ends in 2 weeks when I retire.

@kapt Hi Rickie, I am retired and hag a busy week. I just clicked 800 km with a combination of helping my son with his new business venture, going to training classes with the dogs and getting cottage ready for winter. It is you that decides how busy you want to be and what you want to do with you time. I was told once that time is one thing you cannot buy back. Once it is gone, you have no way of getting it back. You are the only one in control. With this, like any others, I have done the 50 hours plus at times. Do not jeopardize your health for it.

My job can be very rigorous, depending on the week. In October, I had four days off and worked 11 hours a day. I'm lucky, as my full-time job for years was my hobby. Now, I'm paid quite well for something I used to do for fun. It's like having someone pay you to get dolled up every day!

@coloradog1 I wish I could, but it's global and exclusive, so you would know who I am after a ten-minute date with Google. I joined CDH three different times before making my first post, fearing I would lose my position if my boss found out. Maybe someday I can say if I retire. So Sorry.

@lisadouglas Lisa, sounds intriguing and very exciting.  Of course you should guard your confidentiality and only come out when you are ready…there should be no pressure on that front - your job probably already has too much.  I just hope you get the chance to dress as much as you would like with such a busy and demanding schedule.

Best of luck with the job and stay happy.  Hugs Christine

In the past, as a maintenance electrician in a group of six factories, I would regularly work 12 hour days or longer, often seven days a week. I once went into work at 7AM on a Friday, and left at 11AM on the Monday!!!!! It was a hard life. Ultimately, it took its toll on me. Cold steel rolling mills are noisy, sometimes dangerous and make fur a hard life. Knees and back don't last long!

Today, I'm unemployed. I lost my job yet months ago. Cerys is filling the days. Every day is a Cerys day. I still suffer the damage done in my younger days, but at least in still here. A few of my work friends weren't as lucky.

I’m retired now Rikki.  I hope you are just saving all that money you are making working long hours, so you can feel the joy and happiness that comes from working all your life.

I've worked all my life and was only unemployed for three weeks between leaving school and joining the Air Force, so I have contributed greatly and now the goverment are giving me back a fraction of what I've given them. Combine that with some money I get from being in the Air Force and a computer company and I get by in a way that allows me to do absolutely nothing, if that's what I wanted. As it turns out, I'm busier now than I ever was when I was at work and I don't know how I got anything done before I retired; plus, this cross-dressing lark is another [enjoyable] drain on my time and money; especially the money!

I often wonder how I managed with only two days off. Certainly, I do less now, take longer to do it and make sure there's enough time in between for doing plenty of nothing 😊.

Best "job" I've ever had!

This has not been a typical week. I only worked 3 days this week, just having been moved from an office to a cubicle. Thursday I had eye surgery, and my vision in the one eye is still blurry, and an air bubble was put into the eye which moves every time I move my head. This makes my balance a bit off when walking.

@alison-anderson Have a speedy recovery,  Alison!

I just had an odd unexpected problem. The vitreous gel temporarily pulled away from my retina in one eye. The optometrist has to recheck it in a few weeks.

The human body wasn't designed to last this long.

@harriette This is similar to what happened to me. The vitreous humor dried out a bit, pulling a membrane off the retina. It had been there for years, but it was apparent how bad it affected my vision after cataract surgery earlier this year. It was like looking through clear soft plastic, things just aren't in focus, but there are spots where things are very clear. They had to remove the gel from my eye, peel off the membrane, and refill the eye with an artificial gel. They also put an air bubble in the eye to help it heal, which took 5 days to disappear.

A week after surgery, I'm starting to see some improvement from the cloudiness. The doctor told me the vision will continue to improve, but it's not yet at a comfortable level.

Add me to the retired list as well. But I'm thankfully retired from work, but not from life. Living as a trans woman has opened up a whole new social scene for me involving CD and trans girls in various stages of their odyssey. Within a reasonable driving distance from where I live, I am lucky to have many CD/Trans girlfriends and many opportunities to experience life as a woman, a trans woman. It is such a fun, interesting way to experience life. I am very grateful that I have had the opportunity to live life as a woman.

@dovemtn2016 Everyone has their own comfort level and people each have their own niche somewhere on the spectrum. It's all good. People should try and enjoy their niche as best they can.
