Nice to meet you!  I just wanted to build a bit on Stephanie’s response, mostly because I know that I had some trouble using the find friends function here when I first joined.  If you’re already using it successfully then please forgive and ignore this mini-tutorial that I shared with another gal some time ago 😊 :

The ‘Find Friends’ feature on this site to try to find someone local? It is under the “Social” tab and at the bottom of that list is “Find Friends.” There are 4 possible search options one of which is location and if you use that one and leave the other ones blank it will show you all of the hits (you need to give it a minute to populate). Only trouble with this is that as you are well aware, many don’t put accurate or truthful locations in their profiles so there’s that……

Coincidentally, I know your area pretty well - I’m a UB grad, but haven’t been back there for many years now…. I do have at least one friend in here from your area and if you would like, please PM me and I’ll reach out to her and let her know about you and your quest….

I am just thrilled to have met someone like me. We have so much in common and so much to share. Covid has kept us apart but CDH has given us the ability to be in touch as often as we like.

I have "met" people from here on line that are not too far away, but when it comes to actually making plans to meet up it all fades away and I stop getting responses.
