I'm curious to know how many of us, had ever heard their mother say "I really wanted a daughter, I wish he was a Girl."
I had heard that many times, I guess at age five, I tried to be the Girl she wanted by sneaking into her dresser and putting on any GIRLY thing a 5 year old could wear.
Any of you Girls had similar experiences?
hi Gail,
I grew up knowing that my mum was sure I was going to be a baby girl, but I don't think I was treated any differently. Whether that knowledge impacted me growing up, I don't know. The twist to my story was I'm sure that she never told me what that girl would have been called, until the day I introduced her to my future wife ... and you guessed it, the same name!

Funny you ask...
My mother 's pregnancy before I was born, was to an approximately 3 month old "Still Born Girl ".
I came along, then a 3rd brother. I was the middle boy.

I have brother and sisters so Mum never had thoughts of another girl in my case. However she did dress me up on occasion or use me to wear dresses she made for sale to adjust them. I had curly blond hair and used to call me Shirley temple. Some time later in conversation I asked the question, If I were a girl what would you have called me. Hence my name.
When I came out to her that I dressed she was okay with it, and has been ever since. We often have chats about it and she assures me, time and time again, that she had no idea I had worn her clothes or my sisters in secret. She has been so accepting and worked with me to help me on my journey.
I find that difficult to believe but she is adamant and will take her at her word.
Never heard anything like that my mother would liked a girl (I have two younger sisters so if she wanted it she got it later).
The only thing I heard was kind of the opposite, my mother have only have sisters and her father wanted a boy, I was born and became the boy he wanted.

Well one way to find out if she is telling you the truth why not have a beautiful mother and daughter day out shopping together if she accepts you then this might be true.omg I HOPE SHE DOES
Ok so I bet and know some mother's have no problem with there sons who crossdress my mom said to me when I finally had the courage to tell her and show her the daughter she never knew she had but to my surprise she said she knew but was waiting on me to tell her she was just super happy for me.it was one of the best days of my life knowing that I always felt I was a girl and how much I really really really love being the way I am today
Oh Ambermaria we have been out so many times since the day I have told her. She uses my name and is still adamant so I think it is true .
Omg how wonderful is that you must have been in heaven
Hi Gail,
I don’t remember my mom mentioning she wanted a girl. My sister was born two years after I was. It would have been a lovely thing to hear.
Alice
Nope,
My parents had one of each. So, they never said that around me.

Remember hearing few times my mother wanted a girl Know my older brother told me that. Long story short she finally getting the daughter she wanted all grown up. She as well as my father and rest of family friends know my lifestyle choices and stand behind me 100 percent. Ever since the annoucement my mother and I have been doing many thiings in paste from shopping to eating lunch together as mother and daughter. She is little down at losing a son but gaining a daughter at the end of year once my transition is done.
Think she more happy of gaining a daughter after all were said and done.

Interesting question Gail. I am the oldest of 5 brothers. A couple of times mom said she wished she had a daughter. But by the time I was ready to come out to her she was so far into alzheimer's. Had a chance to visit her about 2 weeks before she passed this passed March. All she could say at that time is that I needed a hair cut, with the rest of the family there at that time I didn't push Cassie then.
I hope in my heart if I would have come out to her a couple of years ago she would have come to really know and love Cassie as her loving daughter.
Just to all you girls if your mother is still alive and you haven't come out to her don't wait to long.
