Long before I joined CDH I would google “Crossdressed Mrs. Claus” around this time of year. I loved seeing some of the very nice transformations. Forget playing Santa, I wanted to be Mrs. Claus! And “Mrs. Sexy Claus” would be even better!

My wife has been teasing me about picking up a Mrs. Claus getup if she runs into one in her holiday shopping travels. After Thanksgiving is done it will be all Christmas 24/7 at our house. And of course I told her, “Hey, if you see one that looks like me, buy it!”

And that got me to thinking…how many of you ladies haul out your best “Mrs. Claus” outfit this time of year? If you don’t have one - do you plan to get one? I know that with the vast membership of CDH we would have some real cuties here. Bring on those holiday photos girls!🥰

Hi We had our works quiz this week and the theme was to come in fancy dress too, so I chose to join in the fun and arrive at work as Mrs Claus (I bought a lovely Mrs Claus long dress off Vinted) complete with full makeup, wig, 5” platform heeled boots, bra, forms, panties and sheer black tights underneath.  I drove to the office that way, and stayed dressed all day - it was a fab day.  I got so many lovely compliments and lots of ribbing too of course.  It was all in good humour, and I guess I exploited an opportunity to be femme without worry.

@jennyphose Ya got me. Had to look up what a works quiz is. I never worked for a large enough corporation to encounter such a thing.

Sorry Harriette, I should have been clearer!  It’s just a fun quiz, general knowledge, we split into teams.  Rule 1 was we had to dress up, so I exploited that opportunity!!! 😂

@jennyphose Dressing as Mrs. Claus is a Halloween-ish occasion opportunity to dress up without a lot of people wondering “is he one of those?” I’m surprised nobody took any pics of you in your outfit Jenny since your private pics on your profile are great! (Hint, hint🥰)

Hi Grace, yes, it was defo like Halloween opportunity, and I did that too - I dressed as a witch and got sponsored for charity!  I raised quite a lot!

I do have some photos of Jenny Claus!  I took a couple of selfies and my daughter took when I got home (and scared her half to death when I entered her room!! 😂😂😂). A few were taken at work, so I must get a copy!! I’ll see what I can do!

Edit, I’ve added a selfie to my public pictures.  😉

Sorry Grace, but our family (and by 'family, I mean my wife and I) are complete curmudgeons when it comes to Christmas, we don't even buy each other a card, let alone a present.

Our concession to Crimble is a decorated beech tree branch hanging from the rafters (try it, more convenient than a tree, free of charge and doesn't take up any floor space) and a piece of decorative string to hold any cards we get sent. We do send some cards but generally get more than we send (saving the planet is our excuse).

We always have a haunch of venison for Christmas dinner, since there are only the two of us a turkey would be overkill. One or the other of us has always worked Christmas and/or Boxing Day and this year is no exception (although, as a retiree I don't work at all). My wife is working Boxing Day and we are having a special day-after-Boxing-Day treat: on the 27th, she gets to take me to hospital for a HoLEP operation; yes, we really know what fun is!!

SO might wear pair of Christmas earrings at work (she works in a residential home full of Alzheimers patients) and we were tempted to buy an antler tiara today, but didn't.

@rebeccabaxter Wow, ya know Becca every year I make it a point to watch “A Christmas Carol” -the one with George C. Scott as the penultimate Scrooge IMHO. For some reason now, after reading your post, I don’t feel the need to watch it this year. 🤣

I’m guessing there was a good bit of “tongue in cheekiness” there in your post. At least I’m hoping so…(the decorative branch and string had me busting a gut….shades of Festivus!)

That said, Christmas is enjoyed on many levels. And it definitely changes year over year as people come and go in your life. It’s not bad when you’re retired and most of your family is gone, it’s just different.

So, maybe I’LL try something different this year and dress up like “Santa’s helper” I always wanted a reason to buy some of those candy cane tights!🥰

@rebeccabaxter sorry to hear about the operation, I had to look it up, can imagine that on its own would be downer, be well.

@katiep Oh no Katie, it's far from being a downer. It means I can stop taking two lots of pills every day and wondering if my next pee will be the one that doesn't happen and sends me back to A&E (for what would be the third time) for urine retention. I'll be very glad to get the [not-so] little f***** destroyed with a powerful laser; then the only things I'll have to worry about getting bigger as I age will be my nose and my ears! So no, not a downer, I can't wait to have it done. Let's call it a belated Christmas present to myself.

We know you well enough to know that this venison isn't reindeer.  😁

This is true, but not because my name is Mrs Scrooge, only because we don't have reindeer locally, mostly red deer, roe deer and fallow deer.

Does remind me of a business trip I made in the late eighties to Sweden and Norway in December. While over there we had elk for one meal, and it was very nice (not for the elk).

On the plane home, I heard someone, a few rows behind, ask the flight attendant what the venison was from and she replied it was reindeer. The guy announced in a very loud voice, "I can't eat that, we won't get our Christmas presents!"

The SAS airline attendant was less than impressed, I'll bet she had never heard that one before, ever! Except on every bloody Christmas flight!

@rebeccabaxter I can just read your mind on that plane flight Becca…”I got your present right here for ya if I can get this emergency door open…”

Srsly, eating reindeer on a flight? If you tried that in the US you’d be boiled in your own pudding!

When I still worked I was known as the biggest Grinch in California but you would give me a serious run for the money Becca.😜

I've never really had the desire to dress as Mrs Clause, but a female elf or a fairy might be tempting 😉

Saying that, someone of a FB group posted a photo of them in a Mrs Clause outfit and it looked stunning.... It also looked expensive, not your typical fancy dress outfit. That could tempt me if I could find it. It came from amazon apparently, but I can't find it.

@dazzler Well now Cerys - we’re all fairies if we wear dresses, haven’t you heard girl? Ah, if some of my old friends could only see me now. They would say: “Yeah, I knew it all along….”

Now that I’ve had time to research more of Becca’s reply to my post I cannot stop laughing about it. Truly Becca, a modern version of Dickens Christmas Carol wrapped up all neat and tidy with a Christmas bow on it! Kudos girl!🤣

You started off by declaring your curmudgeonly attitude, of which I share as well, although I’ve softened through the retirement years somewhat. (It rubs off when you’re married to someone who’s life is a Hallmark Christmas movie).

Looking up “Crimble” it’s a humorous word for Christmas. Cuz I’d never heard of it before. And apparently it was used by the Beatles (J. Lennon specifically), in their Christmas recordings back in the 60’s. Becca, (you who hate Beatle-y things😂) I figure you already knew that though.

The decorative branch which apparently you get free from pruning one yourself and the decorative string…LOL! - because string is certainly known for being an over-the-top display of ostentatiousness. I know our tree is never completely done until we add that finishing touch of decorative string. It’s really not the holidays without it! And not sending Christmas cards yourself as you’re “saving the planet” - I cannot believe I didn’t think of that one myself however I will be borrowing it starting now.

And a “haunch” of venison…another “look it up” for me. Haunch is the butt or thigh. (Of course it is!) Sounds delicious…NOT! However I can envision you sitting there in all your curmudgeonlyness, gnawing on a bone.

Naturally your wife is working on Boxing Day so you’ll have to pack up the single branch and the string by yourself. THEN you get to go to hospital the next day and have your Johnson evacuated. It’s the perfect ending for your post because when one can “pee freely” again, one is a happy crossdresser🥰

Thank you for that “classic” reply Becca.

I hadn't really thought about this. I'll be running in an event on Christmas morning and then after that the day is mine to do as I please. I had been thinking of a red / green outfit.

@annaredhead Yes, grab that reindeer tiara that Becca passed on🤣 You can complete the look with some of those ridiculous “automotive antlers” that people stick on the sides of their vehicles. Nothing says Merry Christmas like some out of control tailgater with antlers and a wreath adorning their car and bearing down on you😜

How timely is this post Grace.  I did buy a Mrs Claus costume about a week ago.  I’ve just been trying to find the time to go full girl in it to take some photos.  Interestingly enough today I got all glammed up and had so much fun taking pictures of myself in my Mrs Claus dress.  I even ventured out on my condo in the middle of the day to get a photo.  I can’t imagine the looks that would have gotten.  But the photo really turned out pretty well.

So far I’ve sorted out the photos that I wasn’t sure about and narrowed it down to about 15 from 68.  I just love taking photos!  I posted some of my favorites in my private photos and spent time today writing what I thought were comical descriptions.  So, I had a really fun time doing this.  I hope you get the chance to do it too, it was so much fun.  I’ll be narrowing down some more later and posting a public photo

here’s the link to the photos if anyone is interested in looking at them:

@jennconn Jennifer I love that term “full girl”. I think all of us here on CDH need to find a little time this holiday season to do some “full girling”. “Red gold and green, red gold and green” - sang Boy George and nobody dolled up better in the ‘80s than the one and only Karma Chameleon.😊

When I worked in a shop the first Christmas we wore Christmas style dresses, mine had reindeer on. The next year we did a full Mrs Claus outfit which went down really well with the customers.

I have worn Elf, fairy and other outfits for parties. It's great fun.

I do get the decorations out for Christmas as it brightens the house in the dull winter days. In my career days I rarely got Christmas off but there are moments of joy, especially seeing my nieces and now great nephew and niece loving it as we did as children

We all have a different view on the holiday season but perhaps I should wish you 'Good Elf' Becca....

@ab123 Angela you Brit girls never cease to amaze me. I’m envisioning a shop where everyone’s in their Mrs. Claus getups - heck yeah it would be a hit with the customers!

When I had my beauty salon it was all I could do to get the girls to wear Santa hats every December. They didn’t want to mess their hair up. I had to remind them: “You’re a hairdresser! You can fix it!” Ah, the memories….🙃

Hi Grace,

Some years ago I was asked to be Santa for a holiday party.  A formals rental shop carried larger sizes of the Santa outfit.  When I went to pick up the suit I asked the clerk if there were Mrs. Cluster rentals.  Of course she said!

The following year another cis female guest said she’d wear her Mrs. Claus outfit.  I asked her wherever did you find it?  She couldn’t remember.  Oh the opportunities.

Grace -

It's funny that you mention this.

My wife and I were shopping in Wal Mart the other day, when you walk in the entrance there is a display of cute Christmas outfits hanging on a wall. They are short dresses (nighties) in a variety of styles - some were red with white faux trim, green and red with lights that would light up and other Christmas oriented styles. There were also some jump suit style outfits (one had a picture of the Grinch). We looked and they didn't have our sizes. My wife said we'll be home alone on Christmas and it would be fun to get outfits like that to wear for the day. Time to go to Amazon in search of so we can have a fun day together.

XOXO

I bought a sexy Mrs Claus outfit for my wife several years ago. Kind of forgot about it because she never wears it. I think I only tried it on once . Now you got me thinking about it again. Maybe I’ll be posting some pics soon.

I don’t know what it is about them but they are really fun to wear. I’m guessing it will be an annual tradition for as long as I’m able to squeeze into them.
