Today I'm getting my first makeover! A friend of mine does hair and makeup, and I can't wait to see what she does with me. I'm trying to get up the nerve to go to the Art Museum immediately after the makeover since I'll look my best. Then I get to go to my support group social at a restaurant in the evening for dinner. Exciting day!
What was it like for you at your first makeover?
It will be a fantastic day Lorie, make the absolute most of it, just let your feminine side out, immerse yourself for as long as you can. And relax. Just told my story, and mine was just a make session at a beauty counter.

Lorie you go girl I think you are going to be so happy to see how you look and feel after your friend does her magic have fun girl
It was almost 2 years ago now ... being in the real world at Sephora. They took such good care of me. I remember walking out of there not caring who saw me, I was so happy. Said to the guy who did me up whilst looking in the mirror (Johnny I love you BTW 🙂 ) I finally see on the outside what I've felt on the inside for sooo long.
Go go for it girl!
For My First Makeover and Outing Part II go to this post that I put under Personal Crossdressing Stories:

Bianca, that sounds wonderful! I'll go look at your post.
If you go to the Part II of it, I think I followed your advice. Thanks!
Hugs, Lorie.
Yes, Roxanne, that's why I needed the lesson!
Thanks, Michelle, it was! See the link above in my comment.
Thanks for your support, Autumn! It helps!
The look was great, Jasmine! And I feel so much confidence to be able to do the same. She was so willing to give me the "no makeup makeup" so that I could do it myself. I feel better equipped and she affirmed the parts that I was doing well. Cool!
Yes, Kristy, I saw her in the mirror. What an awesome feeling!
Hugs, Lorie
Lorie,
Loved your posts about your makeover and outing! Sounds fantastic and I could identify completely! Glad you were able to overcome your doubts and not turn back. A smile seems like a girls best weapon in those situations.
Can you explain what the "no makeup makeup" is?
I too have saggy eyes and would love to know what tips you learned. I do my own makeup also but don't even go near my eyes. I hide them with sunglasses that I like a lot and a wig that needs to be replaced but falls around my face.
I'm in a similar place where I'm looking for a bob that I feel would look better after seeing a woman with one in a video. I have a wig with bangs and long wavy hair that is impossible to keep combed thru. I think it would be easier to care for a better quality wig that's straight. I've started shopping online and found a couple I really like but need to be able to get it in a large.
I've never considered a makeover because I don't know anyone who could do one for me. I think I'd have to find a salon in a large city that specializes in makeovers for CDs. I've fantasized about going to get a mani and pedi while dressed as Emma. I know I'd want to do that prior to another long weekend away so I could enjoy it for several days before returning to my normal life. I had a few glorious moments like you that I posted about in my story "En Femme Weekend" and a few replies. Has me looking forward to next time as I'm sure you are now as well!
😚 Emma
Emma, I know that many of the makeup stores such as Ulta and Sephora are quite accustomed to having CD customers and don't bat an eye at us girls getting a makeover. I was going to do that, but a friend that I came out to volunteered.
Scarlett wrote an article here on CDH on wigs, and she recommended an online site called Paula Young. Many of the wigs on that site come in sizes, including large! The reviews are very telling so I'll feel confident in that purchase when I'm ready to get one.hat might be my next purchase.
I went online and found a youtube of someone cutting a full length wig into a bob. I took one of my shoulder blade length wigs and cut it. The initial step was so easy, and it looks great, even without all the refinement. It's an easy step to find out how it looks on me. I got some compliments on it last night at the support group meeting.
