I have seen the post multiple times on where did you pick your name. For me I searched through a list of female names and picked what sounded good. I like the name I picked, have different versions and thoughts if I ever do legally change it but that’s all for future thought that doesn’t matter right now. As much as I like the name I picked I’m not even sure it is me. What really hit me today is that earlier I was asked my name so that another person could transfer one of their employees to me, when I wrote it to them (legal name) it just didn’t feel right. Just now I saw my name written again, seeing it felt like a whole other person that wasn’t me. I have been going by my name over 40 years, have never gone by another name but today, both times, it felt like I was talking or reading about somebody else.
I've never been happy with my male name, and now I've actually introduced myself as Laura a few times, and had actual people address me as such, it feels totally right, like it was meant all along.
When I was younger, I kinda had a misty vision of a beautiful girl every time I heard the name, and have felt consistently disappointed every time I've met someone with the name.
This is a great question - I'd never really thought about it, but now I do, all kinds of things seem to make a kind of sense.
In a pink misty sort of way...
Love Laura
I picked Autumn from a baby name list for girls and I've only used it for about 40 days and I think it's the most wonderful name in the whole world. I love it. My wife and I were watching"house", a medical TV drama, where there is a character named Amber...... I said Autumn instead of Amber Twice while discussing the show with her.
A name is a powerful thing.....

Hi Makenzie,
Fortunately some names are more gender neutral.
I used to hate my name, now I find I am blessed with the perfect feminine name.
Patty
My name came about for two reasons. One I have a friend named Erica and I think she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She is one of only a few friends that know of my dressing. The other thing is my name tells my story Eric-A-Guy Erica Guy. I like to get advice and make friends online and the name helps explain that I might dress and post pictures looking like my female identity I am a guy.
Hi Makenzie
Sian is the feminine of Sean, the Celtic form of John. My birth name is also a Celtic name, but none of the above. I wanted a Celtic name and I have always liked the name Sian, I used it for many, many years. Monnow is the name of a river near where I live, and it is unusual as a surname.
There you have it, Sian Monnow. That is me!
My name is David sooo. For me Davina was easy.
Names are curious, I've found. One's parents of course give us our name, and we get used to it. Our femme names are more special, because WE choose them, out of the thousands available.
As I found myself drawn into this world of femininity, I started thinking about a name to match, and quite quickly, the name "Amy" came into my head. Now this is what seems like the strange part, very quickly I started relating to that name, like the one my parents gave at my birth, if I here or see it in print or on a screen somewhere.
So, for me I truly am Amy. For those that only meet me when I'm en femme, that's only way they know me.
My last name I chose when I decided to join here about a year ago. It is inspired by the actor comedian Mike Myers, who did some dressing up in his films, who also grew up in the same area of Scarborough, (Canada) where I lived for some years.
