Hey all
It's been a long time since I've been here. I just got back on this week after a long time away.
Anyway like many I've dressed on and off for most of my life. Unfortunately I've never been as serious as I'd like. Thankfully I have several women in my life who are supportive and willing to help me.
I guess what I'd like is just some kind words, words of advice, and what have you.
If it matters, I always wear panties, and I have a few wigs. I'll be dress shopping with my best friend and her wife in a few weeks. I have gone for a professional makeup "class" and have a list of things to get so I'm finally working on that, although not as fast as I'd like.
So any advice on how to keep moving forward. I'm a pretty masculine looking heavy set guy and would like to look my best when en fem. And I'd like to develop my fem persona as part of me not as a replacement for my male self (if that matters).
I would get a good bra that’s comfortable with some tights or pantyhose that have the control top which will give you better posture. And make sure to buy clothing that fits you comfortably, as I’ve made the mistake in the past of getting something too tight which ends up with a unflattering look. Look into a medium price wig as the cheaper ones aren’t that great.
Tammy, I'd say you're on your way. You've decided to take a serious look at yourself and have accepted yourself, that's always the biggest hurdle. Having cis-women to support and guide you is also a huge plus. The best advice is to take "baby steps". Set little goals and follow through on them. The dress shopping with friends and the make-up class are great examples. Also, don't get discouraged if everything doesn't always go perfect. Trial and error, mishaps, and mistakes are bound to happen; this is a journey of exploration and discovery. Good luck and you can always turn to CDH for more advice and support along the way.
Hi Tammy,
On your outing I’d suggest an age appropriate Outfit. Wear something comfortable as you’ll want to try on your purchases and see how they look and fit. If you plan on lots of walking wear comfortable shoes too.

I am not calling out anyone in particular at all, but I do have some opinions. I have a tall, large framed muscular body. I'm 6'4". Three years ago I weighed 265 pounds. I could carry it but I certainly did not look my best. So some things are relatively easy like finding a good wig, learning to use makeup. Finding clothes that fit and look good takes some work, but they can be found. But the biggest thing, in my opinion is losing weight. I now weigh 225 and I feel and look much better. In addition to having different skeletal structure and heavier musculature, males carry body fat differently. Minimizing the difference in body fat is something that we have to ability to do. I hope that by posting this no one thinks I am calling them fat. I know how hard it is to lose weight. But I am convinced that is one of the most effective things that some of us larger girls can do to look more feminine.

Well we had an amazing time. My friends wife is the super shopper. She was great at picking out things I wouldn’t but as she encouraged me I saw she was right.
So I bought a few dresses, a few skirts, pants and a few blouses. I can’t wait to try the am on and to get to dress up in them. Next step is to do my makeup and wig and spend time with them as 9ne of the girls.
You sound simply stunning! At the most I weighed 230 (all muscle from training 6 days a week) and was thinking of going amateur bodybuilding but was then hit with throat cancer. My weight (needless to say) dropped to 170 because of how much it hurt to eat (refused to take a feeding tube) and am now in better shape than when I went through Army Ranger school at 190. Rock on!!
Over the past five years I have lost a total of 70 lbs. I'm so grateful I did that before my CD lifestyle began. The dresses I want to wear look much better on me than they would otherwise. There are always other options wearing gowns that spread our, can be much more forgiving. But if you want to wear dresses that hug your figure that's going to be more limiting.
Hi Tammy nice to meet you and im in same larger boat . But my wife is a supportive loving girlfriend to Stephanie and helps her shop and like your friends that help she has a born with girly sence of fashion that's handy when we online or store shop. She helps in stores like goodwill for lots of shoes and clothing that are better brands not so much the Walmart variety which some are ok don't get me wrong ive got some cute dresses from there but wife as my girlfriend knows better brands and styles . So you can look at couple of photos on my page ans im not small or really passable but we have fun at it hoping to put more pictures on later but you can do it the makeup thing just takes lots of practice your girlfriends can be a big help their and like the girlfriends here just ask we all will give advice and incouragement when and where you need it good luck girlfriend.

It is certainly difficult getting everything right and I don't think anybody does right off the back. It is all about learning, it sounds like you have a good support group and I honestly think that goes the farthest when it comes to dressing. Someone to tell you when your make-up looks bad or the dress doesn't hug you right.
I get you on feeling masculine and heavyset, it isn't easy to feel that way and still feel comfortable dressing. But it gets better. Getting a dress that looks good on you, when you shed a few pounds and you get to see it in the nicest dresses. Like honestly I'm dieting and losing weight right now and I don't know if I would've had the motivation if it wasn't for just how much better I look in a dress.
Just remember you dress for you, it makes you happy. And nothing is more exciting than getting better at something you love.

I hope you have beat the big C
Well I got to try on most of the things I bought and I’m real happy.
They fit great and Look good. I actually feel that with my makeup done well and my wig styled I would be ok going ok. I’m not sure what other would think but I don’t care. I think I’ll just be happy to feel like I’m having fun.
So I’m hoping the next outting with them I can wear one of the outfits I bought,
