I found the name Indigo when I was looking through gender neutral names.  I saw the name Indigo and liked it immediately.  I went to the grocery store after church one Sunday and my cashiers name was Indigo; and they had their nails painted black like mine were at the time.

It was then that indi was born.

@innatelyindi I always thought Lauren Hutton was beautiful.   There were also two women acquaintances who were named Lauren and felt it would work for me also.

For a short while it was Maureen. Then I met a girl on a trip to Ireland named Maive and loved the name. There it has stayed!!!!

@innatelyindi I first really knew about my femme side in my early teens and the name Anna stems from there. I took the name from 2 female TV personalities of the time that I thought highly of. So I've known about Anna for nearly 40 years. I did dress secretly in my early to mid-20s, purged when I got married. Had a few items in my 40s that I kept well-hidden and came out to my wife about a year ago in my early 50s. Anna has been "there" for a very long time but very much hidden away.

@innatelyindi My name came from two ideas.

My body used to be quite hairy. Not so much nowadays, but I am still working on that.

My mother's name was Harriette and my dad frequently called her Harri.

My mom probably would have accepted my crossdressing, but dad might have struggled with it more. I will never know now.

@innatelyindi I didn’t have to find it.   Kim is my given name.

@innatelyindi It's a derivative of my drab name.

Hi Indi,

I met a sister of a school classmate whose name is Pauline. a couple of years later I met the sister of another classmate whose name is Paula.  I preferred the name Paula, so Paula it is.

Paula

Mine is from an ex gf.  Maybe a bit weird. Maybe a bit wrong.  But she was a sexy powerful woman and in my mind I was always a bit jealous of her body and powerful femininity.

I started with the name "Heather". Then after a long 20yrs of not wearing a dress, I changed my female name to "Michelle ".  Michelle fits my personality much better.

@michellegirl Michelle, for me it was Sally, Susan or Christine, ever since I was a slip of a girl.  I loved all these names, but settled for Christine as it is also a Greek name (I am part Greek).  I feel very comfortable with this name and I love writing it.  Hugs Christine

I began crossdressing about 7 years ago.  I imagined that I needed a female name, I came up with Stephanie.

When I told wifey that I was thinking about exploring the world of crossdressing, I was going to call myself Stephanie.

Almost immediately she said no, that I am a Staci, with an "i."  And I like that name too!!

I love being Staci.   Have fun all.  Staci

I’ve been dressing since 8 mostly in lingerie.
I didn’t take a feminine name until I started dressing up fully when I was in my late 30’s for sometime I went by Kristie but then my son met and married a Christie . That felt awkward so I changed to Natalie. It came from an old Girlfriend who I often think of fondly. I always felt she was the type of girl who could be accepting of a cross dressing partner, unlike the first women I married. But one will never know. I feel very comfortable being Natalie I even named my boat after her .

Natalie 💋💋💋

I was initially going to be Janice, after the only 6' tall woman I ever knew, an office colleague briefly, over 30 years ago now.  There are also similarities with my male name.  Then I realised what the anagram of Fiona was - plus it was a name I've always liked - and that was that 🙂  Janice became my middle name, and I picked the first surname I liked for my profile on here from a list of those beginning with F.  Given the happy coincidence of my first two initials, this was done deliberately to take advantage of being able to match them all with the letters in the registration of a car I had at the time. Sadly that one has since been written off, but I did at least get to drive it once as Fiona.

Mmmmm 😊 every Joanna I’ve ever known has been nice from the girls I went to school with to the ones I’ve met along the way. It helps that the initials are the same as my male name too, not essential, but kind of helpful to me. I guess if I were to change my male name Joe would be near the top of my list too…

Dead easy:  Holly Marie Combs is definitely one of the ten most beautiful women ever to walk this earth.  I could never be like her, but even using the same name makes me feel special...  Love you:  Holly XXX

I am named after the late great Buddy Holly's song "Peggy Sue," which was sung by him and The Crickets and released as a 45 RPM single in September 1957.

I was being mentored in the female arts by two teenage girls who lived across the street from me around the time the song was first released.  They had dolled me up, and we were on our way to an outdoor party of some sort when the song came on the car radio.  Prior to that, I had been using a female version of my male name.  The two girls then decided I would be named "Peggy Sue," from that day hence.  The name stuck.  They said I was way too pretty to be a boy.

I used to go by Kayla, which is why my username is what it is. Not sure where I pulled it from, I just liked the name. Unfortunately, my SO did not! haha so I told her she could rename me. We looked into more gender neutral names and she came back with Rilee. I loved it so that's the name I've stuck with.

I used to go by Dianne but wanted to change it to something new and fresh. I saw an actress on a British TV show who I thought was very attractive and, when the credit rolled, I saw her name was Fiona and immediately fell in love with it.

Hi Ladies,

I think I must be an exception, as Lauren is the name my mother gave me. I often used to go by Kris when I went out en femme, but I've known since I was a child that I was supposed to be a girl and simply felt comfortable using my real first name.  After recovering from heart surgery three years ago I realized I was definitely more than a crossdresser, I was transgender. Last year I found out I am intersex, I actually am a woman named Lauren!
