So today I hit 2 major milestones I’ve been wanting to do. 1st, I wore panties all day today at work. I work in construction so it was really a gamble and it paid off. Pretty sure no one noticed and I felt great all day. 2nd, went to Torrid with my wife to look at clothes. Didn’t find a dress or heels that I wanted, but did find a cute top that we both really liked. I didn’t tell the staff anything, but they had to know the top was for me, as the wife and I are totally different sizes. Not really a milestone, but after reading someone on here talking about toe rings, I had a toe feel naked and ordered 1 from amazon and it came in today. Feels great on there and looks nice with everything being shaved and my nails painted. I only have 1 milestone left to hit, which is going out fully dressed and in makeup, to bad that will have to wait till we get to travel out of state. I do want to thank everyone on here for their stories and the general encouragement you ladies give, which is what has helped me take the steps I have taken.
Hugs, Ruby
Way to go Ruby!
Thank you! It was all so exhilarating.
You should also celebrate a third milestone of your wife accepting you and going shopping together. That, in itself, can be tough as well.
Congratulations!!!’
It is very nice to have a supportive wife. She has known for 20 years what I am, even though I would’ve never said it myself for most of those. She enjoys it because it makes me happy and that’s what a relationship should really be about. I don’t deserve her and I’m so grateful to have her.
Your wife sounds like my wife! Are we married to the same woman?! I'm happy for you, that support means the world doesn't it?
I did to a certain extent. When the wife was 1st trying on some bras for herself, they told me I was more than welcome to go into the changing room as well. I also was wearing her purse for most of the visit as well. Didn’t take long for me to start browsing as well.
It means the world to have the kind of support she gives.
Wonderful to hear. Milestones are there to be met and everyone we make and pass puts us that much closer to those goals in bringing out that woman inside. Having the support of a significant other certainly helps us in experiencing our femininity as it's truly unique in sharing something so special. Congrats girl there's no looking back. ...

Thanks for your post Ruby.
In general I've found approaching sales staff with confidence and openness pays off massively.
Once they know I'm not shy about shopping for myself they often go above and beyond to help.
Initially I was taken aback, thinking why the heck are they so nice to me?
Months later I asked one of the girls I got to know ... according to her, helping a CD'ing male customer is a welcome change of pace from the usual routine of female customers. They also really dig the display of vulnerability and going against the grain of social acceptance.
Of course not all sales staff will be the same. However, across many different stores I've not had a bad experience by enthusiastically opening up.
I'm really happy for you and your progress, having a supportive wife seems to be the Holy Grail ... lol
Cheers
Nice to hear of your great progress! Yes, I've sometimes thought that the sales ladies in women's wear places might be thinking its for me, so one time I went ahead and told her, turns out she is the manager, and told me the quietest times to shop, and a less obvious change room, if I want to try things on. She also said that all of her staff are good too, but if I have any trouble with someone, to tell her about it!
That's a hard step to take, being so open and honest, but most stores are accepting about it, and you are another customer, and a sale is a sale. Plus, they know if you're comfortable there, you will likely shop there more often, and might be a regular, as you have the relationship with them.
Wish you well on your continuing journey!
Amy
There are so many milestones on this journey. Thank you for sharing yours. The conversation about buying clothes in a shop reminded me of a milestone I happened to have crossed just a couple days ago. I bought a blouse for myself in a local shop. Not mail-ordered. Walked out with a blouse for me. Mind you, I happen to be an expat, living in Myanmar, where the novelty of a man shopping for women's clothes is multiplied many times by my skin color, 6' tall frame and limited ability in the local language.
Surprisingly, I found the perfect place. I knew I was going to need to ask questions, and so when I found a small fashion shop as the last business on a dead-end street and which came up as one of only half dozen or so results for "plus-size fashion" on google maps (in a city of 5 million people), I knew I'd found the perfect place.
It took a lot of courage, but I walked in and asked for help. There were no other customers, just the three ladies who ran the place, none of whom had much in the way of English. It's okay. I knew how to say "Size 18". They didn't know what that meant. That's American sizing. I told them I was looking for a gift for my sister, who wore an 18... checking the google I learned that was also called 4x (really?). IN this confusion, the eldest of the sisters joined the conversation with a measuring tape over her shoulders and started staring at my breasts! Seriously. Ahem, lady, the eyes are up HERE. She pulled the tape into her hands, and I figured out she saw totally through this "for my sister" crap. She wanted to measure me!
That didn't happen. But I did walk out having passed a milestone. I bought a quite femme top in a lovely dark red/maroon color with a butterfly pattern across the front. It's the one I wore in my ukulele video last night (which no one commented on - to think the ukulele has the power to shock a whole forum of crossdressers into stunned silence - I'm actually proud of that)
Here's in celebration of milestones!
